Now, it is billed as the Muse Bar. The bar services stops fairly early in spite of the fact that hotel guests are still there! They no longer serve breakfast but a continental breakfast. It has modest offerings (must be what they serve at a Holdiay Inn since they are owned by IHG now.). I have stayed at Hampton Inns that have better breakfasts! We were there for 4 nights. The yogurt/granola/fruit served each day had the same fruit that co it used to decline in freshness each day. Lots of pastries. Limited healthy options. We are very disappointed in this change. The staff is not happy about it either. I guess this is what IHG offers. It’s not what I expect from a Kimpton. I’ve stayed here many times but I am not sure that we would stay here again or recommend it. Perhaps I’ll check out the Sanctuary Hotel across the street. Read less

Whenever we want to stay in midtown, The Muse is our go-to hotel. My kids love the lobby restroom theme. Very clean and the expected Kimpton vibe. Excellent location. Everything you can want is within walking distance. Hotel staff is friendly. Most rooms are spacious. We’ve never had an issue with noise from neighbors. Become an IHG member for free and speedy Wi-Fi and your $15 Raid the (mini) Bar coupon. I hate to pay for parking. If I have to, I’ll use the SpotHero app. I can always find a free spot near Central Park West or Columbus anywhere from 65-75. When we come with our dog, he receives the Kimpton welcomed. Be aware the closest green space is 4 blocks away at Bryant Park. Central Park South is about a 20-minute walk. Read less

The staff is outstanding being professional yet friendly and willing to help without giving you the feel they were put upon. I remember Barbara at our check-in was great. Dogs are allowed, but the two we encountered were well behaved and not an issue for a non-dog owner. The wine hour is superb and we actually liked the wine. Infused water in lobby 24/7. Free coffee in the lobby during morning hours. No business center but the front desk staff will take care of you with ease. Our room was 1803 (executive king) and well worth it! Our children felt the same about the stay. Read less

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful on the numerous occasions we asked for advice. However we were very unhappy with the the guest amenity charge of $25 a night, which for us amounted to an extra $125 dollars on our holiday. This was taken from my visa without discussion, the details of which I had left on check in to cover any charges that we accrued from the bar etc. As we had paid for the hotel up front we expected that all other costs would have been covered. No doubt this cost is explained hidden away in the small print of the hotel details but it seems like an underhand way of raising more money while making the hotel seem cheaper than it actually is on comparison sites and something I only discovered on arriving home when my card was charged. It's a shame as otherwise we would only have positive things to say about the hotel. Read less

Great location off of times square. rooms were comfortable and modern. Beautifully decorated. Free umbrellas in your room ( which came in handy one day) We had a complimentary breakfast in the hotel one day which was very nice, a good choice of fruit, yoghurt, pastries, toast, eggs and bacon. The only downside is that New York is very expensive. I'm used to paying london prices, but be prepared for anywhere in the area to be pricey! Read less
