This was our first visit to this establishment. The reason is it is in the process of becoming part of the Hilton family of hotels. It will soon become the Conrad of Midtown. Even as we stayed there the transformation was occurring. The staff was gracious in every aspect. Jared at the concierge desk was extremely helpful. He was in constant communication during our travel day and worked diligently to make sure our room was ready when we arrived a little earlier than normal check in time. Our room was very nice even though it was soon to be renovated. There is much happening to transform the place but extreme measures are being taken so as not to annoy the occupants. Breakfast was onsite but maybe a little expensive, even for NYC at $10 for a pot of English Breakfast tea. The staff was accommodating with a late check out so we could enjoy walking around in tourist clothing before changing into travel clothes. All in all a nice place and we can’t wait to go back late summer to see the total make over. Read less

Despariately needs the renovation underway. Room literally falling apart yet still full price. No diamond recognition. Many better choices close by. Regret booking here - not a luxury experience for sure.

We stayed four days for fashion week, booking two rooms at $330 each a night. So overpriced. Online the rooms are cute, in person, you realize you got fooled. For starters, the bell man and doorman constantly rub their fingers together requesting a tip, even in passing. The people at the counter were rude and always seemed to have an attitude.… Read more

For starters, the bell man and doorman constantly rub their fingers together requesting a tip, even in passing. The people at the counter were rude and always seemed to have an attitude. I’ll be nice and leave out names but The lady (S) checking us in had the worse attitude ever. She wanted to charge us for incidentals, get this, $1400.00, even after we told her five times that we talked to the general manager and he waived the security deposit. She even refused to call or text him to verify it, having the nerve to raise her voice at us telling us that she knows her job. No one questioned her job, we asked her to contact her superior. The gentleman (M) came over and relieved is from her and asked her to go in the office. He checked us in with no problem. When the second group arrived, they had the same issue with her and again, someone else stepped in for her. The guy (S) instead of waiving like the instructions said, he authorized $500. We said we would deal with it tomorrow. Read less

The London NYC will soon become The Conrad and my final visit was HORRIFIC. If the service I received on this trip is indicative of what “The Conrad” has to offer, it will also be my last visit. I booked a Crown Suite but upon arrival I received a standard room. It turns out only 90 rooms were functioning as the vast majority were undergoing renovations for the scary new “Conrad” brand. This is understandable, but don’t treat people like ignorant trash and try to slip them in a standard room when they booked a much better room. Did I mention that I’ve previously stayed at the London 5 times prior to this disaster of a visit? Yeah, I’m familiar with the rooms. To their credit, they did give me a credit for each day due to the fact that I was not in a Crown Suite.,........but I had to call and ask for it. You sneaky Conrad buggers!! Here are a few additional bonuses I received under the new “Conrad” brand: 1)The Safe did not work. Security tried to fix it, but since our room was next in line for renovation, there were none that fit. 2) When we checked in, there was only one robe in the room. We had to ask for another. Details, details, details Conrad folk! 3) If something was taken from the mini bar, I had to call to have it replenished for two days. I complained, then it was handled. Details, details details Conrad folk. 4) The hot water totally shut down the second to the last morning we were in our room. The London NYC used to be my favorite hotel. During my previous visit to New York we paid much much more for a suite in a brand new hotel, but we loved the charm, elegance and cool sophistication of The London. I can now say that thanks to the “Conrad” influence, the next time I am on 54th Street between 6th and 7th, I will just be walking by. Later London! Read less

We had a view of Central Park that always drew our eyes to the windows. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to, and easy to go back and forth for resting and recharging when we needed to. The suite was plenty big for our family of 3. Housekeeping checked up on us regularly and were always asking if we had everything we needed or wanted. We will definitely stay here again. Read less
