All in, I paid $300 per night at the Redbury (via hotwire). Let me repeat again- $300 PER NIGHT. Now we know that New York is the place which brought is Donald Trump and it also brought us the tiniest, overpriced hotel rooms. And it certainly isn't helping America be great. Again. Again. However, this has reached the level of absurdity. The room wouldn't have passed muster at a motel 6 in Nebraska. I am not sure how they got the bed into it. The bathroom was about the right size for 6 year olds. The air conditioning was set on creating the background noise of JFK. Carpet was installed to have weird ripples to rip you up at night. The bed was ok not great. Th window sound proofing was designed to give you an "immersive" experience in the horn sounding habits of the New Yorkers. Directly across the street from the window an entire new building is going up. Construction starts at 7 am. One lane blocked and traffic bunches up with endless honking until midnight. There was no warning of this from the booking site or hotel's front desk. Upon my visit to front desk with the request to re-accommodate, the front desk manager apologized and promised to move me and then promptly did nothing. If the fact that you are paying a "resort fee" leads you to believe that you should grab a beach towel and head for the beach, or at least the pool. Let me assure you that isn't happening. It seems that the "resort fee" has become another name for a free crappy internet. Oh so you want a better quality internet? then pay more. And if you want a really fast one then pay a lot. The "resort fee" was that invention originating from Hawaii which we all wish they would take back. As is, it's just a way for Hotel to avoid paying booking sites money on a portion of the hotel bill. Mr. Gary S, the manager, before you cut and paste a response form your prior responses about your disappointment and striving to do better. I would like for you to pay $300 per night for room 546 and actually spend a couple of nights in it. So that you can respond substantively. Bottom line: my advice - pick another option. Read less

It was 9ish am and obviously, we arrived too early at the hotel. But Daniela (at the front desk) is amazing! Room was a little bit smaller than we thought, but come on it's NYC so I am totally okay with that. Overall, I love my stay there and definitely would come back if I travel to NYC. Read less

Trudged back down to the front desk with the nice fellow that was now joined by the pokerfaced decision maker/manager. Explained the situation and was told by the "manager" that the "protocol" was to send "maintenance" to verify my description... So stand here and wait at 11 PM while we do so... REALLY? The eventual solution/upgrade was what appeared to be a poorly updated room with two double beds, an extremely tight bathroom, and a fantastically loud air conditioning system. The carpeting was rumpled and a tripping hazard. Read less

I travel to NYC multiple times every month and I keep coming back to The Redbury because Shelly (at the front desk) is AMAZING!
