Trump International Hotel and Tower New York

Midtown, New York

The hotel

At the heart of Manhattan, overlooking Central Park stands the Trump International Hotel & Tower, rising 52 stories into the sky. It’s unparalleled luxury you’ll enjoy at this hotel, the home of New York’s only Five-Star and Five-Diamond restaurant! But first, the accommodation – not only beautifully furnished, many boast their own kitchen too plus floor-to-ceiling windows to take advantage of those views. There’s nothing quite like a New York skyline, especially at night, so sit back on the sofa with an aperitif in hand and take in the magnificence of it all. Something else you must treat yourself too is a trip to the spa, inspired by wellness techniques from around the globe, there’s a unique selection of facials, massages and treatments on offer as well an indoor pool, steam baths, saunas and yoga instruction. Now, back to that restaurant. Jean Georges is the jewel in the Trump crown, bearing the name of its award-winning chef, and setting the bar for the highest standards in quality and service. Blending French, American and Indochinese cuisine, the setting for the restaurant is visually stunning too. For slightly more casual dining, head to Nougatine, offering fine-dining Jean Georges dishes along with daily specials or linger over cocktails at The Terrace, an al-fresco dining area right next door to Central Park.

To say that I’ve been excited about coming to this hotel is an understatement- we spent weeks researching the best hotel in New York for views of Central Park. Everything lead us back to the Trump International. For our first wedding anniversary we booked the one bedroom suite overlooking Central Park where the views appeared to be amazing looking out over Central Park in all of the hotels advertising pictures. Unfortunately, whilst the rooms advertised may exist, it’s not we got given. Please see my pictures of our view on the 2nd floor looking over the reception roof!!!. Particularly disappointing as we had been in touch with the hotel since March about a room with a view - paul Cholaram emailed us back - “absolutely, your request has been noted”. We were actually staying at the Peninsula hotel and moved here only for the view. I know it may not seem important to some but it was on our wish list. Reception have told us that we can get a higher room for an additional 900 dollars! Trying to be fair - The size of the room seems fine and the decor is stylish, also appears to be clean. Read less

First time in New York -stayed first couple of nights at The Peninsula hotel (which is fabulous btw - review to follow). As it’s our 1st wedding anniversary we decided to book 2nd hotel to experience views of Central Park. We paid in advance for the one bedroom suite with park view. On arrival , we were taken to floor 3 - which looks directly out on to the very busy road - a children’s play area and the ugly roof of the reception area. The annoying thing is that we had emailed in advance specifically requesting the highest floor possible and they’d replied. If you want a view - be careful what you are booking, I would say you have to be floor 10 or above. To make matters worse the small box of welcome chocolates within the room were empty - not a great first impression . We were told hotel was full so couldn’t change rooms and offered a partial refund. Finally, the smell kitchenette is shared between you and other room/s on your corridor. 2 stars given as room decor is nice - yet to explore rest of hotel. Read less

Walk-in closets, kitchenette, floor to ceiling windows, convenient location, immaculately clean and smelled fragrantly inviting. They offered upgrade to junior suite but it was same size and did not have park view according to the desk clerk at check-in. We were super delighted with the floor to ceiling windows of this suite. They gave us a plate of chocolate covered strawberries on the first night. Compact size bath but very well lit. So many little buttons for lights, electric blind for window. Very little street noise. Beautifully appointed. Everything worked and was luxurious except the comfort of the bed. I was so annoyed waking up with a sore neck and called housekeeping to advise that the mattress slumped where you sleep. You sort of rolled into a pocket on each side of the King bed with a hump in the middle. I thought it was an old mattress. Housekeeping advised they were new and offered to flip the mattress. I said i didn't think you could flip a pillowtop but they should turn it. Housekeeping advised they would have management check it. We returned to room and found they flipped the pillowtop mattress. Ridiculous...so they wanted us to sleep on the underside. My husband and I took everything off and flipped it back over then turned it. We laughed about it and I checked the mattress tag and it was less than a year old. It is definitely a mattress warranty issue. Someone should try and roll around on that mattress to see for themselves. You slump into a pocket and need a massage. That's how the hotel should have compensated- with a massage. Joined the trumpcard program prior to the stay which earns points and a lovely welcome amenity. The only other function item is a lack of a small table by the window. There is a very comfortable arm chair and lamp to read or gaze out the big window but no table to sit close to the window, enjoy a glass of wine with a park view. It was pouring rain and we didn't want to be out so we spent an early evening at dusk watching the lights come on around the park. Housekeeping brought a wood TV type folding table and it was adequate but wobbly. Overall it was stellar except for the mattress issue and lack of having a little table by the chair. If i return to that property, before unpacking i would check the bed to see about the slump on the mattress and move to another room. That is not worth repeating. Read less

I have been coming to this hotel for nearly 3 years now, I stayed here from time to time but frankly speaking I visit your bar every odd week and I do love it. I live just round the corner and me and my pals we treat this place like our local pub and we absolutely adore it.
