Mondrian Park Avenue

New York, USA

The hotel

Sleek, sophisticated and bold, it’s easy to see why the Mondrian Park Avenue was named in Conde Nast’s ‘Best 25 hotels in New York City’ in 2019. Overlooking Park Avenue, you can sit and watch the world go by in the rooftop lounge (drink in hand, of course). Wake up to the sights and sounds of the Big Apple from the comfort of your room, and enjoy a morning yoga class, run twice a week. After the sun sets, you can enjoy some Mediterranean-inspired food in the restaurant, or make your way to the hidden lounge bar to enjoy some live music or a DJ set. And when you’re ready to go out exploring, you’re just a few block from some of NYC’s top assets.

My Girlfriend and I stayed here for a whole month while working in NYC. This hotel has become our second home over over the past few years with traveling back and forth for work. Last month when Buffalo NY was closed due to covid restrictions, we went to NYC for work and spent an entire month at the Mondrian. Everyone at this Hotel makes you feel at home and went above and beyond for us. We will never stay anywhere else when in NYC. You would think after spending a whole month in a hotel you would notice something that you didn’t like but I can honestly say, there was nothing unpleasant about our stay. Read less

We booked connecting rooms for my daughter's outpatient surgery at NYU Langone. This hotel is well situated for easy arrival and departure from the hospital. What made this stay easier was the staff's assistance for our post surgical requests. They sent up an extra fridge, a tea kettle, a portable coffee station, ice on request and whatever else we asked for. They were always friendly, knew our names by the second morning and remained responsive throughout our several days there. The rooms are comfy with amazing huge double showers. The bathrooms are so spacious. They offer thick, absorbent towels and more on request. For NYC, the rooms were surprisingly quiet. Each room has its own thermostat for comfort. There's an arrangement for breakfast vouchers from a cafe around the corner (delicious!) until the hotel's restaurants open back up post Covid. Esther runs a tight and service oriented operation at the Mondrian. I will be back! Highly recommend! Read less

There was leftover “stuff” in the toilet bowl. I almost threw up. Horrified in normal times and now especially during covid. Called downstairs and they switched me immediately but did not apologize or make any efforts to compensate us. Instead we got moved to a smaller room. The room was just ok. It definitely needs some refreshing or upgrading. The feathers in the pillows kept coming out. Asked for housekeeping and didn’t get it. Had to ask for clean towels twice before they brought them up. Really disappointed. We didn’t leave because it was such a short stay we didn’t feel like another hassle. Won’t be returning. Ever. Read less
