Seton Hotel

New York, USA

The hotel

Transformed from an old Manhattan apartment block, the Seton Hotel has kept its ‘privately owned feel’ with one-of-a-kind rooms, and an indulgent shared lounge with comfy seating and a 50” TV. Jewel-inspired colours, modern materials, and Art Deco accents that reflect the nearby Chrysler Building, give it a boutique edge at odds with its favourable price tag. Its price defies the extras too, like complimentary WiFi; and the prime location, just 2 blocks from Grand Central Station. If you’re in town for sightseeing, it’s also just a stroll from the Empire State Building and Bryant Park, and if you’re visiting for the shops, it’s within walking distance of Macy’s and Fifth Avenue.

The room was small but comfortable. The hotel staff made the stay excellent. They went above and beyond to give us advice on restaurants and the best times to go. Even the maintenance staff gave us great advice on things to do. The housekeeping staff kept the room very clean. Great location for getting around.

I stayed here in the summer 2018 with my family. Its a lovely little hotel, only a few minutes walk from Grand Central Station. WE choose a premium room with a bathroom... I read that there are rooms with shared bathroom. Our room was small as seems to be the case for all rooms and you can tell it's small just by the size of the hallways and close proximity of each room. Our room was small as seems to be the case for all rooms and you can tell it's small just by the size of the hallways and close proximity of each room. However, it is VERY clean and the staff are super nice. Our bed was not comfy at all, in fact I came back home with back pains, the shower and bathroom are small but adequate and modern. The location is great and within walking distance of pretty much everything. The only negative thing (other than the bed) that I have to say is that except for one of the receptionists, no one every asked us for out names and would just hand us the key to our room. You are required to leave the key behind when you leave, so you have to ask for it each time you enter. I think this way just about anyone can get in your room unless they are somewhat screened. Sure there are cameras everywhere, but I don't want someone tricking the staff into taking my room key. Read less

I go to NYC every year in March for a week with a group of students and always stay at The Seton. Now it feels like my NYC home. The staff and management are excellent and always take care of every thing we need throughout the week. The rooms are small but very comfortable and the staff keep them very clean. Love this hotel!
