The accommodations were comfortable and quiet despite the busy location. Subway station and plenty of restaurants nearby. Convenient proximity to Mt. Sinai hospital at a reasonable price. Would love to return to this establishment especially as it is close to Central Park.

This was our second of 2 week long stays at the Marmara. This is a good family choice with lots of space and light for a Manhattan hotel. Amenities include a Q line subway station just outside, a washer/dryer in our 2 bedroom apt, a less touristy NYC neighborhood, a grocery store down the street, proximity to the Met and Guggenheim museums, and some interesting eating choices. The staff was friendly and helpful. Elevators were sometimes slow during the day as they are shared with the staff. The interior is dated and could use a refresh, but that's an acceptable tradeoff for the price. Read less

Enjoyed the Penthouse Suite again. Awesome location with great views at very reasonable rates in NYC. Right by the new 2nd Avenue Subway, providing easy access to the entire city. One of the best deals in town.

We planned a trip to New York for my birthday as neither of us had ever been. We know what works for us and that is a suite - essentially a one-bedroom apartment (the Hilton Grand Vacations at Sea World in Orlando ruined us for hotel rooms), and after a lot of searching online, we found the Marmara. Sure, the carpet isn't pristine and the furniture is a little banged up, but our priority is space - we each like to have our own space. We had a Big 1BR (the smallest one-bedroom they offer) on the 26th floor overlooking 2nd Ave and we were more than satisfied (even with the street noise), especially for space-starved NYC. I do have to agree with some other comments - the building doesn't have a freight elevator so during daytime hours you will be sharing rides with housekeeping and all of their bulky equipment/supplies. And housekeeping is inconsistent. When we checked in we had two bath towels and that was it. We requested more towels and got them, but we had to leave a note every morning specifically asking for washcloths, hand towels, extra bath towels, and floor mats. We needed to do laundry a couple of times so it was nice to have that available in the basement. The Wi-fi was plenty fast for us. We were able to stream and download movies without any problems. All in all we were happy here and will definitely stay here when we come back. The location right next to the Q can't be beat and the neighborhood is great too. We were regulars at Hoodah's halal cart on the corner and also hit up Delizia 92 down the street for slices more than once! We can't wait to come back - NYC has been added to the rotation! Read less
