Gardens Suites Hotel by Affinia

Upper East Side, New York

The hotel

In a quiet corner of New York, but close enough to the sights not to have to bother hailing a yellow cab, Gardens Suites Hotel by Affinia is a rare refuge from the Big Apple buzz. Hidden away on a tree-trimmed road on the Upper East Side, you can escape to the chic calm of your suite, where homely comforts include your own kitchen, and luxuries include grocery and breakfast deliveries. Downstairs, the Serenity Lounge’s complimentary Tea Bar has a bespoke blend laced with chamomile, citrus and vanilla designed to soothe you (and that ubiquitous New York ‘caw-fee’ to perk you back up). When you do fancy some Manhattan exuberance, just grab one of the free bikes and follow the hotel’s sightseeing app and you’ll soon find yourself in nearby Central Park, Museum Mile, or Bloomingdale’s.

We enjoyed our spacious suite and terrace. We noted a new and fully equipped kitchen even though ate out at the many wonderful restaurant choices in the neighborhood. We highly recommend the garden Suites Affina and would return again.

I stayed here for a girls trip. The room was large and comfortable. It could accommodate at least 5. Beds were comfy. The most memorable part was Sal that worked there. The car sent to take us to the Airport was incorrect. It was more expensive than what we ordered. He called the company and fixed it for us so we got the less expensive price.… Read more

The car sent to take us to the Airport was incorrect. It was more expensive than what we ordered. He called the company and fixed it for us so we got the less expensive price. Even gave us his card and said if there were issues to call him. He told us he was with the company for 17 years. I thought he was the manager bc he knew everything going on. I hope the hotel recognizes his value. He exemplifies true customer service. Read less

We visited NYC for our son's college audition for Musical Theatre programs. We chose this property for convenience and amenities. It took 4 phone calls and two visits from staff to get the sofa bed made up (and even then, we did it ourselves), and the breakfast was delivered late and cold, after a phone call was made to front desk to ask about it. We ordered the evening before. Coffee pot was inoperable, but after the customer service experience we came to expect from this hotel, we gave up and went out for a hot cup. Jennifer Baldwin, the General Manager sent an email to ask about our stay, and my husband responded the next day. We never heard another word from them. Additionally, we were sent an email to review the hotel. A similar response was sent to this request. While the room was very nice and spacious, I"m not sure we could stomach paying that much money for poor customer care. Literally, all we were looking for was them to ask us to give them another chance. They didn't even respond, similar to the attempts to get a bed made and a hot breakfast. Read less

They let me check in early (12:30) with no questions. I was expecting to have to just drop off my luggage. The room was huge and the location is fantastic. The staff could not have been friendlier. I will keep this in mind when I come back again!

They could not have made us more comfortable. There were 10 of us in 3 rooms (4 children ages 11,7,5,1) Every need was filled quickly and with a smile. Thank you for making this such a memorable Thanksgiving.
