Driftwood Shores Resort and Conference Center

Oregon, USA

The hotel

Every room at Driftwood Shores faces the ocean, and that’s what really places it on the map. In fact it’s the only oceanfront hotel for miles. They’ve maximised on this fact with a balcony or deck in every guestroom (along with complimentary WiFi and a kitchen or kitchenette), and a restaurant and lounge flooded with views over the wild sandy shoreline and dramatic Pacific surf. And you have 10 miles of beach-swept coastline starting just steps from the hotel, with the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area promising more sand-themed fun nearby. For a break from the beach, Driftwood Shores offers its ‘aquatic center’, with its heated indoor pool accessorised with a 15-seater hot tub, a children’s pool, and a mini-splash area for little ones, complete with water spray tunnel.

Our first time at Driftwood Shores - went to celebrate our 4th anniversary - and when we walked into the lobby we were blown away by the ocean view. We requested a 4th floor single queen room (great idea if you want more privacy). The price was fair at $115 per night with military discount and the view from our room was as incredible as it could be. We had a nice little patio with 2 chairs and a small table. The room was nice. The ONLY reason I didn't give the place a 5-star rating is because we kept finding long hairs where you don't want them - on that bed throw thing and the bathroom floor and in the shower. Seemed someone was just too quick in cleaning to do it 100%. That's the only thing that was not 100%. Oh wait the walls were very thin too but that wasn't a real issue. The lady at the desk was super nice and helpful, the jacuzzi was great, the beach access is unsurpassed and then again, that view.... sigh. We will be back. PS the restaurant was OK but overpriced. A great weekend escape, the views are fabulous and you can either walk the beach, swim with the kiddos in the pool, lounge in the hot tub or head out to explore all the close by attractions Old Town Florence or North to Sea Lion Caves. We love it! It's our easy escape from Eugene that everyone in the family enjoys

I have been to Driftwood Shores in the last two years and both times I felt the staff treated me like a child (I was 20 and 21 on the two different stays). I had hoped on the second chance things would have gotten better but it deteriorated from the time they handed me my key. After purchasing a suite for one night we were charged for damages in a room we did not even use in our suite. The pictures they sent us showed no sign of damage and they did not explain themselves. Worst service I have ever gotten and will not be going back. Read less

We usually always love to come here, been coming here since I was a kid, we rented a large room for ourselves and friends to stay in for a 4day weekend... one of our kids is disabled, he had an accident and we asked for them to bring down the shampooer... we would have been fine doing it ourselves.. instead they acted like we put them out and we’re a nuisance to them.. making our disabled child feel even worse about the situation- they then left the room and proceeded to talk crap about our whole party right outside our room... cool, great housekeeping 🤦‍♀️ Not!! We also asked for a new set of bedding and they refused, and then finally brought us a few flat sheets- forcing us to sleep straight on the mattress with no bedding protector, or fitted sheet...they wouldn’t even refill our toilet paper- we had to ask several times and they were very rude about it... again this is all just the housekeeping staff... not sure what has changed but we won’t be back for a while after this- we paid ALOT of money for this vacation and are very dissatisfied and disappointed with how we were treated during our stay! Image of the Tripadvisor rating Beautiful location, rooms small and outdated

I was really disappointed when I opened the door to the room. The room did not look like the pictures on the internet. They are small and cheaply decorated. They don’t look like they’ve been updated since the 70’s or 80’s. Prices are high for what you get.
