Driftwood Shores Resort and Conference Center

Oregon, USA

The hotel

Every room at Driftwood Shores faces the ocean, and that’s what really places it on the map. In fact it’s the only oceanfront hotel for miles. They’ve maximised on this fact with a balcony or deck in every guestroom (along with complimentary WiFi and a kitchen or kitchenette), and a restaurant and lounge flooded with views over the wild sandy shoreline and dramatic Pacific surf. And you have 10 miles of beach-swept coastline starting just steps from the hotel, with the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area promising more sand-themed fun nearby. For a break from the beach, Driftwood Shores offers its ‘aquatic center’, with its heated indoor pool accessorised with a 15-seater hot tub, a children’s pool, and a mini-splash area for little ones, complete with water spray tunnel.

Room was recently updated. Great view of beach off balcony. Reasonable priced room right on beach. Restaurant had great views and great clam chowder. Family friendly play zone so would be good for kids.

Nice and big standard beach hotel. Hotel was quite old and could use some updating. Other than that room was large with a big balcony - great view of the sea . Nice location right on the beach . We did a group sand dunes tour - around 18$ per person - super fun !

We only stayed one night here but after experiencing the room and view we wish we would have stayed longer. We had a fast check in and received the room we reserved which was nice. The room was clean and large and had a nice patio. We were located right in front of the beach access trail which stole our privacy though but we were only there one night. Bed was comfortable and kitchen well stocked. We plan to return but maybe get an upper floor room or a corner room away from beach access so we can have some privacy. We didnt get in the pool as there were alot of kids in it. We also did not eat there. Read less

This place is amazing. Some people are complaining in reviews about the outdated-Ness, but I've stayed at another coastal property in the past (on the other coast) and that place was sketchy and filthy. This place was clean, had fantastic views of the ocean, and was perfect for just my husband and I. The restaurant had limited hours because of… Read more

This place was clean, had fantastic views of the ocean, and was perfect for just my husband and I. The restaurant had limited hours because of "The Vid" but we went and had the best supper of our trip thus far. If I make it out this way again, I will most certainly stay here again! Read less

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon which was a HUGE mistake. From the pictures on the website, your rooms looked spacious and clean with a view of the ocean. Being newlyweds we tried to save money and this motel looked like an affordable option. The ocean view was amazing but when we got to our room we were deeply disappointed. Our room was cramped and the queen bed took up most of the small room. The bathroom was also very small and looked dirty. The appliances were outdated and we felt like we were staying in a 70s motel. The walls were paper thin and we could hear our neighbors talking on each side as well as the shrieks of their obnoxious offspring. There was a door adjoining our room to the other room right next to our bed which sound traveled through. The bed was also very squeaky and uncomfortable so you can imagine it was an unromantic and sleepless night for my husband and I. Thankfully the restaurant was great, Scott was an amazing server, and our drinks were so good they made our stay there bearable. If you are on a family vacation and need a cheap beachfront place to stay then this is an affordable and decent place, otherwise do yourself a favor and find an actual hotel or airbnb. :) Read less
