Driftwood Shores Resort and Conference Center

Oregon, USA

The hotel

Every room at Driftwood Shores faces the ocean, and that’s what really places it on the map. In fact it’s the only oceanfront hotel for miles. They’ve maximised on this fact with a balcony or deck in every guestroom (along with complimentary WiFi and a kitchen or kitchenette), and a restaurant and lounge flooded with views over the wild sandy shoreline and dramatic Pacific surf. And you have 10 miles of beach-swept coastline starting just steps from the hotel, with the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area promising more sand-themed fun nearby. For a break from the beach, Driftwood Shores offers its ‘aquatic center’, with its heated indoor pool accessorised with a 15-seater hot tub, a children’s pool, and a mini-splash area for little ones, complete with water spray tunnel.

Bird crap on the deck and a failing polymer tub and shower - a disappointment!!! I'd like to come back when they're through with the remodeling but with a commercial kitchen that does not fulfill non-cross contaminated food for my Gluten Free wife, we cannot dine at the Surfside Restaurant. I Bless you guys and hope for the future of returning; everyone gets a 2nd chance!!! Read less

Very unimpressed paid premium price $128.00 and was appalled that there was only two plastic 4oz water glasses and two papers cups for coffee, A very musty smell to the room. Also there were no chairs on the balcony. Once again I am reminded why I vowed not to stay here in the future. Burned again!!!!

I am not going into all the detail, just bad. We had to change rooms at 8pm, the people above us so loud after we moved. Front desk don’t really care. We have been coming here for many years and this motel has gone down hill. Yes the view is great but room and service so bad. I was so disappointed! I have stayed here many times, and recently the staff has fallen down hill. We stayed over valentines day and the people above us had children who jumped off the beds, hopped across the room, starting at 7 am. We called and complained but staff only said they were sorry for the noise. Nothing was ever done

After a terrible experience at the Dublin House motel in Yachats, it was so nice to be greeted at the front desk with a friendly hello, and stepping into the elevator to get to our room on the 4th floor was such a relief! After a terrible experience at the Dublin House motel in Yachats, it was so nice to be greeted at the front desk with a friendly hello, and stepping into the elevator to get to our room on the 4th floor was such a relief! The hotel is located about 3 miles north of Florence and 2 miles off Highway 101. It was getting dark, and it had been a gray and drizzly day, so we couldn’t see our view, but I was totally fine with that. Driftwood Shores looks like an older place that has had a recent remodel. The toilet had a water saving feature, there was an adapter in the bathtub to make the shower head higher (relief! I’m not that tall, but oftentimes I have to stoop under a too-low shower head!), and a flatscreen TV. The queen bed was nicely made up with 4 pillows arranged invitingly on top. We stepped out onto a nice balcony, but it didn’t have any chairs on it. We went to the hotel restaurant for dinner, and were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Being relatively early, we drove to the Three Rivers Casino for a few hours. When we returned, we went right to bed. I slept really well and was very comfortable. Woke up to the sound of seagulls, a beautiful day and a lovely view. My only real complaint is that the water pressure in the shower was kind of low. Had breakfast at the hotel restaurant and was again pleasantly surprised. Went to the back, the. Down to a very nice beach. Walked for a bit, then back. Checked out - Rey reasonably priced - and headed back home. When my husband and I go to the coast, we usually go to Lincoln City, but wanted to go to the Agate Festival in Yachats. We had such a pleasant experience at the Driftwood Shores and Florence that we discussed that being our new go-to for beach trips. Read less
