Driftwood Shores Resort and Conference Center

The hotel

Every room at Driftwood Shores faces the ocean, and that’s what really places it on the map. In fact it’s the only oceanfront hotel for miles. They’ve maximised on this fact with a balcony or deck in every guestroom (along with complimentary WiFi and a kitchen or kitchenette), and a restaurant and lounge flooded with views over the wild sandy shoreline and dramatic Pacific surf. And you have 10 miles of beach-swept coastline starting just steps from the hotel, with the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area promising more sand-themed fun nearby. For a break from the beach, Driftwood Shores offers its ‘aquatic center’, with its heated indoor pool accessorised with a 15-seater hot tub, a children’s pool, and a mini-splash area for little ones, complete with water spray tunnel.

Terrible facility! Old and outdated. Photos don't match the actual rooms AT ALL! COMPLETE MISREPRESENTATION! Our rooms had no power and wall electric heater had lint in it which is a fire hazard. Bad were hard as rocks. None of this is worth the view from the window. Charged us twice as much as the Red Lion Inn which is where we ended up staying… Read more

Bad were hard as rocks. None of this is worth the view from the window. Charged us twice as much as the Red Lion Inn which is where we ended up staying instead. Once we saw the rooms we immediately asked for a refund and left and went to the RedLion. Read less

My wife checked in here for a night of rest after volunteering with the Red Cross. First she was given the key to "her room" and entered to find a man on the bed. Thankfully he was as surprised and as nice as she was, so she withdrew safely. The next room was dirty and smelled funny. The third room was about the same - worn, dated, dirty, musty and with an unpleasant unidentifiable odor. The balcony was also dirty and without even a chair. She wasn't comfortable staying, so she left, and the management thankfully waived any charges. Maybe some of the rooms are as pictured online. Read less

Parking a nightmare for anyone but especially guests pulling trailers for ATV etc. And the front desk staff clearly could have cared less. And even threatened towing if parked in unmarked area. The room it's self fit our needs for 4 adults and 2 children. Room was not ready at 4pm and asked for another, was told ours was the only pet friendly suite. But that was clearly not true as we saw others check in behind us in suites with pets. Social distancing was in effect and followed by most. Pool attendants friendly. Unfortunately the same could not be said for Front Desk staff, the older women's attitude was clearly not customer service friendly. She was doing us a favor @ $400 a night Read less

We had a pet friendly room on the first floor that opened onto the lawn and beach. Everything in the room was renovated and well organized. The staff was friendly and helpful. Washer and dryer are available.

I stayed here 2 nights along the way of a solo road trip. I was on the 2nd floor in a standard queen room. There was a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. The only ice machine was on the 3rd floor which was a little out of the way. My balcony had a great view (they all do I think) of the beach and sunset. I slept with my slider… Read more
I stayed here 2 nights along the way of a solo road trip. I was on the 2nd floor in a standard queen room. There was a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. The only ice machine was on the 3rd floor which was a little out of the way. My balcony had a great view (they all do I think) of the beach and sunset. I slept with my slider open and listened to the waves. The beach is super wide and made for a great walk in the morning. The restaurant on site was take out only due to COVID and closed on Mon and Tues. so I didn't get to try it. I didn't use the pool, but it was open with reservations. The room smelled a little musty, but it is right on the beach so I guess that is to be expected. My only complaint, is the noise from the rooms above. There were littles up there re-enacting the Indy 500 each evening and early morning. So pick a top floor and maybe folks with kids could stay on the main level and/or remind their kids they are not the only ones in the hotel. Read less
