Good morning world! Waking up in your bed at The Salishan you're greeted by ginormous windows overlooking some of the prettiest nature scenes on the Oregon Coast. We started off our stay here on a less-than-great note with noisy, smoking neighbors who spent the entire evening talking, laughing, and watching their TV at a volume that allowed us to hear every word. The following morning after telling the woman at the front desk about our issues, she promptly moved us to another room across the property away from other people as best as she could to alleviate any of the noise concerns we experienced the first night. From that next day on our vacation here at the Salishan truly began! We brought our older pitbull with us who was greeted with more love and affection than we were (this was during Covid, after all)! All in good fun, however, the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating at every turn. Every single staff person we interacted with on property was friendly and a pleasure to deal with. The room we were in first (and the room we were eventually upgraded to because of the noise) were fantastic! Just like the newest pictures on here: fireplaces, balconies, large tubs, and comfortable beds! The ONLY downside were the other guests. 50% of the people on site wore masks and no one enforced it. This would be fine if the property was quiet, but this is a sprawling property with lots of walking involved - so you're frequently passing others moving from building to building. Other guests wore their masks incorrectly (under their nose) or not at all. This was a little disconcerting and definitely drove us away from congregating in any spots around others on this gorgeous property. Bike rentals were free and the beach was only a 15 minute walk away (or less if you walk fast - or ride a bike)! The shops across Highway 101 from the hotel had great food (shout out to Squatchsami and their amazing fish and chips) and it was great to get a sunset view from basically anywhere on the property (perfect for enjoying a glass of wine on your balcony in the evening). All in all a relaxing vacation well spent at The Salishan! (Just avoid the other inconsiderate guests!) Read less

Not sure whether the current food service is intentional or temporary due to the COVID mess, but the menu selections in the Attic are limited and uninteresting. Replacement of the Sun Room with a coffee bar is a disappointment. Both are needed. We enjoy the rooms but abhor the Motel 6 style communal toiletries and lack of bar soap. The new kitchenette sinks are pretty but otherwise useless. We always golf, but would appreciate a guest discount on greens fees apart from the existing package deal. We only need 18 holes, not unlimited golf. Read less

But if that is going on, then don’t open up. Or at least be very up front about it. Neither of those things happened. Worse yet, they were charging a premium price for a experience that doesn’t match up. I even filled out their post stay review and tried to address these issues with managment before posting them here. That was 4 days ago and I haven’t heard anything. Read less

We had a wonderful massage at the spa! We will most definitely go back to this resort!! Very happy with their service. The customer service was excellent. All though we were not guests at the resort we enjoyed a nice relaxing hour long message. The facility was very clean and beautiful.

They have plenty of space to be outside yet visit with others from a distance, hike in the woods and walk to the beach. The cafe has good food and the recently added the wonderful Bay House where we had a lovely meal. We are planning our return as soon as we can get back. It will be our pandemic go to getaway and probably our getaway after the pandemic eases. Enjoy this unique place. Read less
