Kimpton Hotel Monaco Portland

Portland, Oregon

The hotel

Proudly promising all of Portland’s biggest attractions, bikes, brews, and books, Kimpton Hotel Monaco’s downtown spot makes experiencing them easy. Complimentary bikes are just the beginning; there’s a free 24-hour gym, complimentary hot drinks in the lounge each morning, and wine hour in the cosy lobby each night, often featuring piano or jazz swing bands or showcasing local chocolatiers or wineries. High ceilings and picture windows are reminders of its department store heritage, while touches like bird-sprinkled wallpaper adds a whimsical twist. The happy hour’s equally playful; so good it actually lasts three hours, it features small plates, microbrews, and cocktails. And, after you stroll back from Pioneer Square, the waterfront, or the block-long Powell’s bookstore, the hotel’s Red Star Tavern’s ready with innovative American dishes.

Just moved to Portland and stayed for 9 days before escrow closed. Terrific room (upgraded to the Grand Suite), and excellent service. Marianne and her front office staff were very hospitable and professional. Will stay again when the opportunity permits

Our favorite thing about the hotel was the welcome sign for pets -- what a fun touch! Read less

Shout out to this hotel, I was supposed to stay with some girlfriends yesterday but cancelled last minute due to the COVID situation. (I live in Seattle). They were so accommodating and friendly despite I know this is hurting their business and I had booked a non-refundable room. Thanks so much and I look forward to staying in the future.

Stayed at the Kimpton for a business trip, usually agency’s put you in cheap crappy hotels therefore I was highly impressed this was the choice I was given. Kimpton is centrally located. I walked everywhere I needed to go. Public transport is near by although I never used it. On to the hotel, this establishment has amazing decor! It’s the first thing you notice upon entry. Next is the staff, what an A team. Amelia, Brian and Scott! You made my stay so worth while. Always pleasant, always remembered my name, and you handled the billing issue with my agency efficiently. After two long days of conferences it was nice to come back to the hotel greeted with a glass of free wine. Lastly, thank you to Henry, on my last day as I exited he quickly helped me with my bags and into a taxi! (Loved his mustache too!) Keep up the good work Kimpton Monaco! Read less
