Kimpton Hotel Monaco Portland

Portland, Oregon

The hotel

Proudly promising all of Portland’s biggest attractions, bikes, brews, and books, Kimpton Hotel Monaco’s downtown spot makes experiencing them easy. Complimentary bikes are just the beginning; there’s a free 24-hour gym, complimentary hot drinks in the lounge each morning, and wine hour in the cosy lobby each night, often featuring piano or jazz swing bands or showcasing local chocolatiers or wineries. High ceilings and picture windows are reminders of its department store heritage, while touches like bird-sprinkled wallpaper adds a whimsical twist. The happy hour’s equally playful; so good it actually lasts three hours, it features small plates, microbrews, and cocktails. And, after you stroll back from Pioneer Square, the waterfront, or the block-long Powell’s bookstore, the hotel’s Red Star Tavern’s ready with innovative American dishes.

Stayed and valet-parked my car here and Jonathan and Clay were awesome, accommodating and helpful. Excellent service. The rest of the hotel is beautiful. I especially loved the bathroom wallpaper of iconic places around Portland!

Great place for my co-workers and me to stay. We rented a meeting room to practice for a client presentation. The room was great, and Nicole in Sales was awesome! Social hour is always a great way to connect with new folks. I usually have colleagues meet me during social hour before we head out to dinner.

Great service across the board from the moment we checked in to picking up our bags from Henry at checkout after a day of exploring the city. The rooms are lovely and the bath products are great. Love this place and will definitely be back next time we’re in Portland.

The decor is eclectic and the staff is good looking (especially the men with the cool mustaches) and very attentive. What impressed me even more was the location. It is within walking distance to a mall (no sales tax), two pharmacies, three banks, and FedEx shipping. The many highlights of the location is the liquor store a few doors down and the bar that is down the street that has live entertainment with local Hip Hop and Rock artists. There is another bar around the corner with billiards and live comedy and a cigar bar that serves stiff drinks. I LOVED IT!! If you are like me and enjoy (sales tax free) liquor, shopping, bars and cigars, this hotel is centrally located. This hotel has now become my MUST STAY when in Portland. I highly recommend it:) Read less

I stayed here for a work meeting that included an extra day to visit with friends. The staff are extremely attentive and upbeat, following up to make sure I had everything I needed.
