Surfsand Resort

Oregon, USA

The hotel

Spotting starfish in tide pools. Getting out on Beach Cruiser bikes. Toasting marshmallows for s’mores around beach bonfires. Taking starlit walks on the sands. It's all here on Cannon Beach. At Surfsand Resort, the owners haven’t just thought of the big things, like the heated pool and room service from Wayfarer Restaurant & Lounge next door, they’ve also arranged complimentary treats, like fresh cookies and saltwater taffy, and seasonal weekly popcorn carts, ice cream socials, and ‘Weenie Roasts’. And the ocean views are hard to beat – the hotel is practically on the beach, yet just a stroll from downtown, including the Surfsand owners’ own Public Coast Brewing Company.

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay here for our first visit to the Surfsand Resort. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay here for our first visit to the Surfsand Resort. Our room was spotless, and it was nice that there were 3 sets of towels so that we didn't even need to ask housekeeping (but could if we wanted to). The location is what has sold us on staying here again. This property is situated so that one can walk to many restaurants and shops. Best of all, the beautiful beach was steps away from our room. The bonfire on the beach was another plus. It is a bargain at $15 (and an additional $15 for smores). I called at noon the day we were driving in to arrange for our bonfire and make a "reservation". There are limited spots, so I think it is best to call and reserve. The bonfire was a real treat and better not to have to set it up ourselves. Read less

We stayed in the ocean front top floor room. The view of the Haystack a few steps away. The room was appointed with everything we needed. Small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. It was perfect. We come to Oregon every year and this is now on top of our places to stay. Thank you Surfsand for making this a truly memorable trip!

The room was so close to the beach, the complimentary beach cruiser bikes were great and easy walking to shops and restaurants. This place has wonderful services and amenities. The staff was great, especially Jeannie and Zach. The cabana crew was so helpful with the private beach bonfire we did each night ($15 for firewood/$15 for s’mores kit). We would stay here again without hesitation. The room rate, particularly weekends, can get spendy, but we had no regrets and would pay this premium again for the view and stone throw to the beach and ocean. Read less

Kami, the manager, was apologetic that we would be getting their last available room, a studio. In fact it was beautifully furnished with a fireplace, very comfortable bed, and a view of the big rock on the beach. We had in-room dining which was quite good and enjoyed a quiet private night. Would definitely recommend. Have also stayed at… Read more

Just stayed here for a milestone birthday and it took the pain out of getting older. Friendly and helpful staff; clean, comfortable, luxurious lodgings; great takeout at Wayfarer restaurant onsite; walking distance to town and short walk to Haystack Rock; across the street from Sleeping Monk Espresso and a great little brewpub Hardware Store; incredible beachfront setting and view (view room for a price). Appreciate Covid precautions and deep cleaning. One small quibble was terrible internet service, even if you pay daily free. Just get the free service and/or bring a book and unplug! Definitely going back, and not waiting another decade! Read less
