My girlfriend and I are first responders (ER Nurse and law enforcement) when we were looking for a quick blissful getaway to recharge during this pandemic. We did not find it here at Margaritaville. We checked in and found out all their amenities are closed, except for their cold pool (middle of winter.) Yet, they still charged us a $40 resort fee. Interesting. We checked in at 2pm and we were asked to come back when our room was ready. Well, the parking lot was empty and the resort looked deserted but this was fine because we totally understand giving a hotel time to prep a room. We parked our vehicle and not two minutes after we left the lobby, we received a phone call from the same front desk receptionist Danielle saying our room was ready. Odd She told us nothing is open in the resort (other than the cold pool) and we could bring our own drinks to enjoy poolside, just no glass. Understandable. Later in the evening, we were at the pool talking and enjoying a beverage in our respective Yetis when Amanda (a manager) said we can't have outside beverages or food in the pool area. She said there are signs posted of this, I never found any after this interaction. We informed her that Danielle earlier said we could have our own glassless beverage poolside. She apologized and said we couldn't have outside beverages or food at the pool. This is coming from a resort where all their food and drink services are shutdown. The food and drinks services being shutdown is understandable with the current Pandemic conditions. But, it's not understanble to have this unwritten rule told to me by Amanda. Again, I never found any signs posted of this rule. Our room was spacious but it reaks of the old hotel Margaritaville turned this from. My girlfriend constantly complained of an odd smell coming from our room and I can relate it to an old carpet, wet dog smell. The bed, bathroom, and amenities in the room were nice. EXCEPT FOR…. We wanted to take a bath in the nice tub. But we found a bunch of hair floating in the tub that would not drain. Large amount of hair in the drain and surface of the unused tub. Gross. (See pictures) The shower. The water was scalding hot and despite my attempts, the water stayed at the same temperature. My body was bright red after my shower because of the very hot temperature of the water, which could not be fixed. The weird interactions, unreasonable fees and rules, the smell, scalding water, and general feel of the resort really turned me off. My girlfriend and I will not be staying here or any Margaritaville resorts ever again. Waste of $180. Stay away, spend your money where it's valued. Read less

Margaritaville opened its first West Coast hotel in Palm Springs this year around Thanksgiving, and we were excited to be able to come out for 3 days, 2 nights after Christmas. It sits on 16 acres of prime real estate with views of the San Jacinto Mountains, just 1 mile north of uptown Palm Springs. It was formerly the historic Riviera, built over 60 years ago in 1959, and hangout of Rat Pack, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin; Elvis Presley was a guest, and Palm Springs Mayor Sonny Bono opened a restaurant here. There are 398 rooms total, but only 75 currently available, with the rest undergoing renovation (looking forward to the opening of suites w/ private jacuzzi, and others overlooking the pool!) Margaritaville has a cool, upscale, island, beachy, Jimmy Buffet vibe, a really pretty pool area with fire pits, cabanas and view of the San Jacinto mountains, a gorgeous renovated lobby with giant blue flip flop, and several restaurants and bars that will be open soon (Come Monday, 5-o-clock Somewhere Bar, JWB Grill, License to Chill bar, Joe Merchant’s Coffee); currently, just Come Monday is open for take-out only, due to CA regulations. The rooms are classy, bright and spacious w/ splashes of color. We had a Deluxe with one king bed, and a Premium studio w/ 2 Kings for the kids next door. They have a mini fridge, free wi-fi, coffee maker, free parking, and big, beautiful bathroom w/ soaking tub. Microwave would be a nice addition, as would a dresser; there was only one drawer in the room to share. Service was incredibly prompt and friendly; especially Jennifer, who patiently answered our many calls and questions, sending over ice, wine glasses, someone to fix our beeping safe, and someone to look at our mini fridge that was missing the drink-holding bar on the door. The weather this weekend was unfortunately not very tropical (it was a high of 61 today, with a low of 45), but looking forward to coming out again when it’s warmer and everything is open, and basking by the pool, enjoying the pool bar and jacuzzi! DO NOT STAY HERE I REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE!Where do i start? The only thing nice about the hotel is the lobby after that everything else is run down. Before my best friend booked for my bday weekend he asked what was open at the hotel they said one restaurant and 5 o clock somewhere bar(pool bar). When we got there the restaurant was closed early due a curfew and the 5 o clock bar was not open the Restaraunt was serving the pool guest drinks. The jacuzzi was closed they told us it was open before booking. When we arrived the front desk guy didn't know much about the resort, he kept saying he didn't know. Next the hotel is not completed with the renovations so why even open it? There were hardly any guest but we still got a room with a view of a nasty rooted roof top, not to mention there are visible rat traps all over there property. The heater didn't work so the room was freezing and the technician told me it hasn't worked in three days their using some boiling system or something but haven't been able to get it working. Then the final straw is the ice machines were turned off so i asked the front desk if they could bring some and they sent a guy up with a bucket of ice when i open the door he is all looking in the room and says there is no smoking marijuana in the room?? What are u kidding me!! I don't nor does my friend smoke marijuana and who just insults a guest like that?? The property did smell like marijuana in different parts of the resort while we were there in the 2 days but who just blames someone for something like that?? I feel completely insulted and disrespected. Then today my best friend says they weren't supposed to charge him resort fees since they just opened and today his card is pending double the charges. I'm writing this review here but it's going on trip advisor and everywhere else even to corporate. I believe all the employees here could benefit from some refresher hospitality training as it appears not one person here knows what their doing nor what their job role includes!! DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Read less

We decided to take a short trip right before the mandatory stay home orders. The entire hotel has been revamped , remodeled and rebranded....We really enjoy the "Beach furnishings and deco" at Margaritaville. Shout out to Ken , who informed us on what was open at the resort and in town... the place was unusual quiet and not crowded , but we were able to get some sun by the pool and had some delicious tropical drinks ( Tropical Paloma) and some spicy chiliquides appetizer .....Though the menu was limited , everything was fresh and tasty..... As for our room we stayed in 2211 corner suite , building 2 (Deluxe room with balcony.....Everything was in working order including Keurig and refrigerator...the bathroom also had a shower and huge tub....The only complaint is that our Room was in Building 2 near main road and parking lot(Noise from cars on Road) . Next time we will get a room in the interior of the resort.....like building 6 or 7...... Most of all, we enjoyed a nightcap next to a firepit overlooking the pool. Overall, we will definitely return after this COVID mess to enjoy the Resort in the Summer.... Read less

Living next door to the new Margaritaville Resort we had to check out the dining options. Walked into The Come Monday Cafe just for a small bite and was pleasantly surprised. Ana graciously served us and was so attentive to us the whole evening. She really made our experience not only fun, but memorable. We will be back soon!
