Stayed for 4 days with my family. Lobby looks fantastic but rooms are not nice. I could smell sick in ours near the bed. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. Ground floor room we had and one of the adjoining rooms had a large dog that crapped on the patio and it wasn’t cleaned up. I have 2 small kids. Couldn’t let them out on the patio.… Read more

Ground floor room we had and one of the adjoining rooms had a large dog that crapped on the patio and it wasn’t cleaned up. I have 2 small kids. Couldn’t let them out on the patio. Reported it but nothing was done it wasn’t even picked up! Also watched a member of staff power wash the floors near the pools and washed bird crap into the pool straight after another bloke had just cleaned it out! Dirty hotel wouldn’t stay again for free Read less

If you buy anything from bars BEWARE sty checkout they add extra fees to what you think you paid on your room, we counted about almost $100.00 extra!! I don't think I will stay here again, after staying here many times over the years. Read less

Palm Springs has not been easy for us to identify an ideal hotel - and it really doesn't have to do with the property itself, but the way its guests behave. The Riviera is no different - it has some very annoying guests and very loud children so it wasn't easy to find our space - but once Sunday morning arrived and so many LA guests started driving hoime, we found we started to have more of the resort to ourselves. This is where we enjoyed Francesco's Summer Hummer at the Chikki Pool Bar (best drink I've had in town) and once the sun started setting, we had our first moments of peace in a public area. Our guest room was really wonderful - very large with a fresh bath (and nice bath products) and GREAT air conditioning - and a really terrific housekeeping staff. We also enjoyed using our balcony a lot (though it was facing a dumpster and that is unfortunate). We didn't love walking all the way to building 4 for three full days but we got our exercise in Cameron at the front desk was awesome and we loved the champagne welcome (and the Calidad beer). Had a terrific breakfast at Palmetto (it was expensive but a stunning setting that was convenient and, again, demonstrated caring and high quality staff service). It isn't the hotel's fault that visitors to Palm Springs are obviously selfish and loud and don't show much respect to their fellow visitors. I'm not sure where one could ever escape this whilst staying in Palm Springs, but we used our guest room as our getway and it worked. And we'll be back to enjoy the quality of the resort and its well-trained staff in the future. A great value as well, particularly because it is located along the Buzz route so transportation to downtown was always free (Thu - Sat). We appreciated much about this beautiful property, including the lovely Donna Paul in the PSP shop. Read less

This place is three star, at best. It needs to stop trading on some tenuous link with Sinatra and Palm Springs golden heyday, since the place has turned into spring break central - right through summer. You can forget relaxing poolside - an obnoxious DJ playing obnoxious music turns the place into a frat house party short of a beer pong event. There appears no dress code, and people are wandering around inside showing off their tattoos and beer guts - and that's just the women. The decor is tired and grubby. Take a look at the seating in the common areas - it's all worn and dirty, and in need of a good clean. The box spring of our bed was broken, making for one night of uncomfortable sleep. Soundproofing is awful. We heard everything going on above us. None of the rooms have very pleasant views - the best you can hope for is not to be completely overlooking a parking area. Talking of which, use the complimentary valet, since finding a parking spot is near impossible. This place just can't be recommended for anything other than a bunch of students, bachelorette parties, or the like. Read less
