The Saguaro Palm Springs

Palm Springs, USA

The hotel

The strapline, ‘Pina Coladas for breakfast – no judgements’, sets the feel-free-to-just-be tone of the Saguaro (that’s Sa-Wah-Roh, pronunciation fans). This rainbow-coloured oasis – just a hop and a skip from downtown Palm Springs – has everything you might need wrapped up a Pinata-bright Mexi-Cali package that’s as cheerful as it is chic. It’s no wonder the Saguaro has backdropped numerous fashion mag shoots in its time. But even if the only runway you’ve ever graced is at Heathrow you owe it to yourself to hit the Saguaro. Test the tacos and sample the ceviche at the El Jefe restaurant, perfect your Upward Facing Two Foot Staff in one of the daily yoga classes, or simply take the short trip from your balcony to the pool, frozen daiquiri in hand, and blisss out under the desert sun.

Very cool idea, great bar tenders at the inside bar. It looks pretty and what not, but just be aware that it's a motel that's been painted in fun colors. It's got some great amenities and was comfortable, but rooms aren't as fancy as you might think. The front desk person seemed a bit judgmental when we checked in (perhaps we weren't hip enough),… Read more

It's got some great amenities and was comfortable, but rooms aren't as fancy as you might think. The front desk person seemed a bit judgmental when we checked in (perhaps we weren't hip enough), but everyone else was lovely. Parking is free and easy which is nice. The pool party looked packed when we saw it. We had a pool view, but you had turn your head and lean out to see anything. We were situated in front of an area that was being set up for a wedding, so the view was so-so. Not sure if you can request a view, but do so if you can. Overall, it's decent and I might stay again. However, it's definitely meant for partying on the weekends and Instagramers. Read less

Stayed dined and partied! It was the perfect location to celebrate our friendships!!! No better place than a stay-cation with great pool vices! The margarita pitchers were perfect, the front desk was welcoming and the new decor is so preety!!!

The Saguaro was my home for a week while I was working in the area. The staff was great to me the entire time. The restaurant inside is also delicious, get the baja fish tacos, won't be disappointed. I only spent a little time at the pool but when I did it was relaxing and clean. Lots of people came on Saturday but it wasn't disturbing or too distracting. Would definitely come back here if I'm in the area again. Read less

Were replaced twice in the only area with sun left right before sunset for a movie screen, annoying not very relaxing experience, could have placed that screen at the other end where the shadow was or placed that screen up later. Got coupons for Margaritas, do not drink alcohol, cocktail without alcohol was not possible, not perfect! But sorry to say then a homeless guy just went into the pool area. Do not get me wrong (I am sorry for him and the States definitely have a huge problem on that everywhere!), but if I spend a lot of money being a hotel guest that is a huge no go! Staff was running around for 15 min at least, guests also did not say something. That is a hygenic and safety issue! I told the bar guy, managers came. After telling her I got again two coupons for margaritas (do not drink alcohol though!). After I turned around they both high fived (sorry not a big deal, but not in front of the customer!) After all that is such a big no go that a homeless guy is entering the property and is jumping right into the pool! At least a free non alcoholic drink, free breakfast or anything like that could have been a good solution for letting staff know!!! We were upset after all! Sorry to say, either security or keypads for the pool area should be a solution for future guests. Read less
