Hotel Monaco Philadelphia

Philadelphia, USA

The hotel

Nestled in the iconic Lafayette Building, an architectural landmark built in 1907, the Hotel Monaco Philadelphia offers luxurious accommodation close to all attractions. It’s also one of the few hotels in Philly to feature a rooftop lounge – located on the 11th floor, it’s a great place to relax with a few drinks, admiring the views as the sun sets on another day. The Red Owl Tavern is also a popular spot for guests and locals alike, serving hearty meals in a warm and friendly atmosphere. If you’re keen to keep trim, there’s a fitness centre on-site. Alternatively, bikes are available for complimentary rental on a first come first served basis – an excellent way to get around, make sure you bag yourself a two-wheeler at some point during your stay. Every evening, the hotel hosts a complimentary wine hour in the lobby lounge – not just a great way to meet and mingle with fellow guests, it’s also handy for picking up tips on sights to see off the beaten track and places to eat!

The best thing about this hotel is it’s location right in front of all the historic sites and the view that comes with it. Rooms are large, the bed is comfortable and the shower is good however the water flow of the sink is very weak. They serve free wine dauly between 5-6, a little too early our liking. The interior of the hotel got me very… Read more

The front desk knew it was my birthday (I think I mentioned it when I had to add another night to my reservation a week earlier). In my room waiting for me was a bottle of wine, a box of chocolate covered pretzels, and a card from the head concierge, Roshid, wishing me a… Read more

If you are a tourist this is the hotel for you. Hotel monaco is right across the street from Independence hall. You have to get a free ticket at the visitor center and go early. Dogs are always free at Kimpton and they do love dogs. Our room was quite large and very clean. Beds were comfortable. The lobby area is quite eclectic and very enjoyable.
