For my first time staying at a Kimpton hotel, I was underwhelmed. I attribute it to the hype and brand of elevation that I had in my mind prior to arriving. For my first time staying at a Kimpton hotel, I was underwhelmed. I attribute it to the hype and brand of elevation that I had in my mind prior to arriving. I think due to COVID, the pricing structure of this hotel was reduced. One night stay was $171 (before taxes) or 27,500 points. I used my points. We confirmed at check-in about the cleanliness of the room. As a precaution, we also wiped down all the surfaces and sprayed disinfectant. During our own cleaning session, we were happy to see that we were not picking up any residual dirt. I stayed for one night. The beds were comfortable. I really liked the dimmer switch in the bathroom. Specific room item amenities include iron, ironing board, umbrella, hair blow-dryer, and yoga mat. As a point of reference, my usual stays with the IHG hotels are with the Holiday Inn Express. Noticeable things missing from the room were the microwave, refrigerator, and alas, the coffee maker! I was there for only one night, but I brought my own cooler (a cheap light Styrofoam one from 7-Eleven) and an electric kettle to make instant coffee in the morning. I believe you can ask for coffee, because they offered it to me downstairs when I was checking out. However, person-to-person interaction first thing in the morning isn't my favorite thing to do. I was happier to stay in my room with the instant coffee. Don't forget the mug (or travel tumbler), creamer, sugar, stirrer! What's really convenient is that there is a Rite Aid just "down the street"! Our room was on the 8th floor, the only ice machine is located on the 4th floor. We went to Rite Aid, got a bag of ice, along with water and other things we may need. One nuisance, not just this hotel, but many hotels, limit your access to their TVs. My room had a Samsung TV, with an HDMI port available, however, the remote provided does not allow you to change the source/input. Be aware that some hotel amenities weren't available due to COVID - gym, food & drink. Oh well, but understandable. I was happy that I was able to have a place to rest my head for a night. Oh and, terrible water pressure for the shower. To generalize the stay, I would say adequate. It helps to be prepared knowing what you're getting and not getting. For example, no fridge, means leftover food could pose a problem. No coffeemaker, so what to do first in the morning if you're a coffee drinker? Read less

We really enjoyed our stay at the Kimpton for my brother's wedding. The hotel is beautiful, in a great location, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay again next time we are in Philly!

First let me say that I love Kimptons and am usually very happy. First let me say that I love Kimptons and am usually very happy. I will also say that the front desk person when I checked in was fantastic and accommodated my request to be moved to another room when I first arrived and was given a room in which I could practically touch all four walls from the bed. You could not move between the bed and dresser without turning sideways. The second room is slightly larger but no better. What I love about kimptons is the character, upscale finishes and comfortable beds. This property has none of those. The pillows are so lumpy I can’t even use them - I don’t even want to think about how old they are. The carpet is covered in lint. The furniture looks like it came from a holiday inn express and is scratched. The bathroom is extremely dated. I wish I had selected the other Kimpton in town or a different property. Won’t be back. Danielle at the front desk was very accommodating. She made us feel like stars. We ( My wife and 3 year old son) were only staying for a night and although travelling with a toddler can be tough the staff made it as smooth as possible.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Kimpton Palomar in Philly for two nights with family and friends. The hotel itself is beautifully appointed with a cosy fireplace in the lobby area to gather as a meeting place. Happy hour with wine was a treat, along with the popcorn. There was also coffee available in the morning, or you could ask for a personal sized Keurig for your room. Special shoutout to Rian, who greeted us with a welcoming smile upon checking in. She answered all of our questions patiently and kindly. Kiki at the front desk was also very helpful. Both of them left us treats in our rooms, from spiced nuts, macaroons, to some bottles of Pellegrino, along with personal notes. What a nice gesture. The beds were comfortable and the pillows, plentiful. If you forget to bring your toiletries, all it took was a quick phone call and they’d deliver it. The gym was well lit and ventilated, and had a nice bowl of fruits. The Palomar is also in a terrific location. We were able to walk to our many destinations quite easily, the Philadelphia Art Museum, The Flower Show at the Convention Center, Chinatown, and the Rocky Statue. Everyone we encountered during our stay was professional, courteous, and welcoming. Reuvon, Waddyyan, Ashley, Rian, and Kiki are all to be commended for the top notch service they provided. We would not hesitate to return. Betty Read less
