The maintenance came to check what was wrong and they said they wouldn’t be able to until the following day, in which when they did come the following day only took them about a quick minute to repair; Something that could’ve been done the day before. Friendly housekeeping and average room, they don’t have an ac which sucked but wasn’t a major inconvenience. Read less

A really nice hotel! We were there for twelve nights (with a four day gap in between to head for Yosemite) and were very impressed by the whole experience. The neighbourhood seems a little rough at first, but during our whole time there we were not bothered once nor saw anyone been hassled in any way! To be honest, from what we saw, these homeless people were EVERYWHERE in San Francisco...I even saw some directly outside the Hilton just up the road, but we didn't feel threatened at all. Thus, the hotel is a little hidden gem. The staff was very attentive and friendly with a very high degree of helpfulness. From the off, it comes across as a very clean place with good size rooms and we felt very safe. The rooms are only accessible via a lift requiring a keycard and so, as part of a family that had a two-year old and a seven-year old we felt very safe. There is a small unsupervised rooftop swimming pool there which was ideal for us...it is nicely heated...with salty water...very refreshing after a day traipsing the area. My kids loved it...and hardly anybody else used it. There is a good little bar/restaurant attached to it (K-Oz)...a typical American sports bar with large screens showing various sports (British football, ice hockey, American football, baseball etc). The quality and service of the food and staff was excellent, but it was rather expensive. We had a two pancakes and an omelette with drinks for breakfast on our first morning there...all very nice...but it came to just over $85! We decided not to go there again, if we intended to be able to afford to stay! There is a brilliant little cafe/deli across the road...Cafe Moda...which fed the kids for the rest of the stay. On our last night we treated ourselves to a meal at the bar (K-Oz)...again, fantastic quality...but three plates and around four drinks came to around $145! The gratuity was $22, which was more than we paid for a typical huge breakfast at the little cafe across the road.I suppose that's how the system works over there with tips etc which we still find strange over here. We left the hotel for four days to head for other parts of the state, but our room was well looked after and when we returned everything was safe and sound and as clean as ever. There is an excellent valet service for your car on the ground floor in the hotel garage with a lovely gentleman in charge of the whole place. Overall, the location is just right. It was near enough to the airport and just off Market Street (above a hundred yards or so), which is the main street dissecting the city. The iconic ferry building is a good half-mile maybe down Market Street and the trams' terminal/turnround is just around ten/fifteen minutes away from your hotel entrance by the A T&T Building on Market Street too. It's in a major city, with a major city's noise, but it did not disturb a good night's sleep. I would definitely go there again. A top of the range budget hotel with all-round good quality service and staff...my kids loved it, my wife loved it and I loved it! Read less

Crashed here for a night after a show. Hotel was clean and definitely worth the price. Would definitely stay here again and recommended for those who don't want to fork out over 200 bucks for a place to basically just sleep!!

the pool is about the size of an average kiddy pool or 10 person hot tub. the carpet was raggedy and had holes and rips in it. there is no AC so you have to leave your windows open in a part of town which is filled to the brim with homeless drug addicts. its pretty clean, and the staff were mostly friendly. the bed was nice and comfy and the… Read more

Great service, clean, quiet and cheap for SF. Neighborhood is a little rough but in transition - probably won’t be able to afford this place in a couple of years. Lots of German tourists/families.
