Image of the Tripadvisor rating too many people living on the streets of SF

I can not suggest anyone stay here unless the are packing heat, we felt very nervous the whole time. It is not the hotel's fault...I would blame the government of CA for creating an environment where freeloaders feel they can live on the streets and ruin the SF experience for the tourists.

Friendly service by on-site staff. Room was in need of updating... musty smell, worn out carpeting, and peeling wall paper. Room size of "Family Suite" not really that good for a family. At nightly rate, breakfast should have been included; however, coffee and tea was welcomed.

Nice hotel, good service, decoration retro, excellent cleanliness and very good sleep quality. However you must relax regarding many homeless and crazy people, walking down the streets, all of them pacifics.

The room was clean but did not have air conditioning, mini fridge or a microwave. The beds were comfortable and the ceiling fan did help cool the room since it didn't have air conditioning. The television was also very fuzzy and did not have cable.

Quirky place, but does have it's charm. Staff is very friendly. Proximity to main courthouse is excellent, as is proximity to Civic Center BART station and Federal building--all are easy walking distance. Rooms toward the middle/rear of the complex are much more quiet than those facing 7th Street. Water pressure in the shower is on the low side. Bed was comfortable and room was spotless; even the iron was clean. Cleanliness is excellent. I would stay here again as long as the room was not facing 7th Street. On-line reservation system was simple and straight-forward. Read less
