Galleria Park Hotel

San Francisco, USA

The hotel

The boutique Galleria Park Hotel has had a complete refresh throughout, combining it's art deco history with modern touches. The city’s attractions are right outside but, if the hills put you off, you’ve got easy access to the BART network, or you could just head up to the hotel’s Park Terrace, featuring an urban garden with a gentler walking track. Extras include WiFi and morning tea and coffee. And the evening wine receptions are an ideal free treat before heading to Gaspar, a Parisian-style brasserie where French favourites like simple croque monsieur or hearty steak frites are served with a Norcal twist.

I have stayed here twice on business in the Financial District - it is walking distance to the Moscone Center and the surrounding event spaces, and is great for business in that area. I've walked with luggage to the Yerba Buena Gardens/ Metron / Moscone area with no issue, it's about a 10 minute walk and a mostly straight shot. The hotel room was comfortable, attractive, and not too small, and while this isn't a huge deal, it has a ceiling light, which so many rooms lack, so I can actually turn on enough light at night to work comfortably from my room after dark. The front desk staff were accommodating in solving a reservation mix up (Not the hotel's fault - the travel agent that booked our rooms reserved the wrong dates) and were able to work with us to creatively solve an issue that could have been a big problem without their help. Overall I have been very happy at this property, and would definitely stay again. Read less

I arrived with numerous packages for a convention. Everyone was so helpful in getting me unpacked and settled in. The room was clean with a view of the city. Every staff member would continually ask about my stay and if there was anything they could do for me.

Beautiful hotel! The staff and accommodations were very nice. The only short fall could be easily fixed. The street noise is pretty bad at night. Newer windows might help. The bathroom and shower are small. The extra closet could be remodeled and give additional space to the bathroom.

We emailed ahead and requested (and got) a quiet room on an upper floor facing the interior courtyard. Room 716 was a Deluxe Full and was a reasonable size, perfectly okay for us. The bottle of bubbly and card was a nice touch. The Hotel had a nice vibe and we particularly enjoyed the sipping hour, sat on one of the tables on the mezzanine floor, drinking a couple of glasses of red wine, Reception and all staff were all very friendly, and made our stay even more memorable. Free coffee in the morning was a bonus and we also liked taking a few photos in the 3rd floor outdoor garden terrace, with the backdrop of the financial district 'towers'. Location of hotel was perfect and we walked everywhere. Thanks to all at the Galleria Park, we thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay. Read less
