The hotel

The boutique Galleria Park Hotel has had a complete refresh throughout, combining it's art deco history with modern touches. The city’s attractions are right outside but, if the hills put you off, you’ve got easy access to the BART network, or you could just head up to the hotel’s Park Terrace, featuring an urban garden with a gentler walking track. Extras include WiFi and morning tea and coffee. And the evening wine receptions are an ideal free treat before heading to Gaspar, a Parisian-style brasserie where French favourites like simple croque monsieur or hearty steak frites are served with a Norcal twist.

Pro - Good location (Union Square, Market, Bart, Chinatown), Good Size Rooms, Nice Bathroom (one exception see below), Good staff Con - Dog Friendly Hotel, Dog Noise during afternoon hours Rate - $188/Night for King Room, No Resort Fee with Travel Zoo Special Stayed at this Hotel for 3 nights during President Day Weekend as a result of a Travel Zoo Special with my wife and friends. I had previously looked at this hotel but wasn't willing to pay the resort fee of $18-25 dollars a day for wi-fi and drinks. The Travel Zoo Special waived those fees so I booked. Upon arriving, the front desk staff, Ben, was very friendly and personable. He got our group checked into our rooms before official check in time. The rooms were well kept with a comfortable bed. There was a small desk and mini fridge in the room with a mini bar along with snacks. The Hotel also provided two bottles of water in the room free of charge which they would restock when cleaning the room. The TV remote did not work well but that wasn't that big of a deal. The in room Wi-Fi was fast enough to stream a hockey game without buffering. The bathroom was also a decent size although slightly narrow. The only issue was the toilet seat was slightly loose but again not a big deal. The only thing about the design of the bathroom is it has a fogged class door which the light shines through if someone uses the restroom in the middle of the night. I get that it probably makes it less claustrophobic but a minor inconvenience. We also had an issue with the toilet but staff was fast to response to fix it. The parking charges also were not unreasonable based on similar rates at other hotels. Further, the valet was quick to get the vehicle when we requested it. The only negative and it is a small one is the fact that when we returned to the room during the afternoon on one of the days a dog was barking for over an hour. Apparently, this is a dog friendly hotel and I imagine the owners just left their dog in the room while they went out. Our friends room was closer to the offending dog and it was much louder for them. The front desk was notified and I never heard the dog again. Overall a great stay and I would definitely stay here again. Read less

Location, room, staff... everything was great. I will stay here again next time I visit SF. Room was clean and quiet. Enjoyed all of the extra amenities, especially the espresso in the room. Very happy with my stay.

We recently stayed at the Galleria for our Anniversary/birthday celebration. The hotel is very cute, rooms are all remodeled and very clean. The service was exceptional, and the hotel is within walking distance of so many attractions.

We were in town to see Hamilton. The location allowed us to walk to the theatre, and to great restaurants. They warned us several times that the street side room would be noisy, we chose it anyway. It was noisy, but didn't interrupt our sleep. Would definitely stay at the Galleria Park Hotel again.
