We were so impressed by the communication and coordination of the professional staff. Upon arriving by car, we were recognized and greeted by Bellman Michael by name without introducing ourselves. Both Michael and Haj were welcoming and friendly at arrival and throughout. As the personification of the 5-star professionalism and hospitality service that Four Seasons promises, Brad Mumford delivered, and was responsive to all our needs and preferences. During this anniversary trip, we had suite stays in San Francisco at Fairmont, Ritz-Carlton, Mark Hopkins, Hyatt Regency (as well as Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia) to compare it to. FS @Embarcadero was at the top, literally and figuratively. The spacious Bridgeview Suite (#4606 on the 46th floor) had panoramic views of Golden Gate and Bay Bridges, with windows everywhere, even in the bathroom. Restaurant was not yet open, but In-Room Dining breakfast, lunch and dinner were excellent. We usually stay at FS downtown but it was closed until August. We are glad that the closure created the opportunity for us to stay here (we last stayed here in September 2005 when it was the Mandarin Oriental). Read less

The staff was so friendly and helpful. They booked a car service that was pet friendly for us to visit Napa for the day. Every time we came in or left the hotel we were greeted by name. We ordered room service a few times since the restaurant was closed and the food was delicious. The location is perfect. We were able to walk to Chinatown, Little Italy and shopping. Delicious restaurants in the area. We had rooms 4710 Superior Room, which had a view of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge - it was a little small, but great views. We also had room 4815 Superior Room, which was a city view and the bay - this room was really spacious. I highly recommend this hotel! Read less

We stayed here for an anniversary. The rooms had a great view of the bay but the bathrooms are smaller than the usual four seasons bathrooms. This was our first visit to a hotel during Covid. None of the hotel restaurants were open and we had to eat in the room for our meals. Normally we had breakfast included with the AMEX platinum package which meant unlimited capuccinos, but with room service, you were charged for each one plus the food quality isn't the same. The lunch in the room was better than the breakfast. The location is close to the water so it's nice to get out to the restaurants along the waterfront. The gym was small but empty. The corridor connecting the two towers gives nice views of the TransAmerica building. Read less

We stayed on the 45th floor. There is a sky bridge connecting the two towers of the hotel with floor to ceiling glass windows bestowing one with a spectacular view of the city skyline (Salesforce Tower, Transamerica Pyramid) and the Bay Bridge. The view from our room windows were equally breathtaking as well! Using the Four Seasons mobile app, we let them know what time we would like to check-in, our personal preferences for the stay (e.g. mattress & pillow types) as well as our credit card for a seamless check-in experience. We received both an email and text (optional) notification when our room was ready. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The bathroom was big with a separate shower stall and bath tub. There are both Nespresso machine and electric kettle in the room. There are a lot of electrical outlets, USB charging ports, and a wireless Qi charger on one of the nightstands. Located at the Financial District, it is a short walk to Union Square, Ferry Building, Westfield San Francisco Centre, and Chinatown. The service from the staff was great – from check-in to the optional turndown service. The only blemish on our stay was the in-room climate control – the sensor was not functioning which caused the automatic mode to turn off the fans. Switching to manual mode helps. Note: the sky deck was also closed during our stay. COVID-19 San Francisco County escalated from the red tier into the purple tier a few hours after we arrived. The gym was closed before we got to see it. The room comes with a packet filled with hand sanitizer, masks, and sanitizing wipes. Additional steps were taken to make sure guests were safe include temperature screen at the check-in counter as well as daily temperature check for every guest (once a day) as you enter the building. As for dining options at the hotel, you can either call the front desk to order, or you can order via the Four Seasons mobile app. In room dining menu can be found in the mobile app itself as well as on the hotel’s website. Both the Branzino and Flannery Ribeye Steak were delicious! We had quite a romantic and wonderful evening dinner together with a great view of the city skyline at night. Read less
