Paper thin walls. No air conditioning. An electric heater from the 70s Moldy smell in hallways. 1 ice maker (in the lobby) with a stack of cracked plastic ice trays. A window that could be opened for fresh air IF the crank wasn't broken. An elevator that I took one look at and decided to walk. Overall there are plenty of better options in the… Read more

Room was clean and tidy, coffee and tea facilities available here unlike the other two places we stayed. Bed was super comfortable as well. Staff were helpful and friendly. My only quibble was the walls are like paper- we could hear next door talking and their tv was very loud, not considerate at all. We also heard a dog in the room. The hotel… Read more

The hotel can’t help being situated where it is- my partner and I turned left and walked down as we were trying to catch our bearings but there is a huge homeless population. I saw people preparing their crack pipes and also shooting up with yards of each other which was concerting. Turn right and head up if you visit! Read less

Overall, I have mixed feelings about my stay here. Pros: - Very convenient location. - Clean room. - Good room service. Cons: - Hidden fees. I’m not sure it’s a San Francisco thing or just a few hotels like this one. - Old room. The heater didn’t work and it made a very loud noise. - The carpet smelled, a little but you’d notice it. - Poor… Read more

The heater didn’t work and it made a very loud noise. - The carpet smelled, a little but you’d notice it. - Poor soundproof. The people next to my room were loud. Even when they’re just talking normally, I could still hear them. - Some staff members were nice, one just cut me off with his sassy attitude. Read less

There are some things the hotel cannot help, such as the fact that the streets outside are filthy and filled with homeless people camping out. However, there are many things the hotel could help. I booked this hotel to be close to a Tango event that was only two blocks away. My hope was to be able to walk back and forth at night to attend the dances. However, I felt extremely unsafe walking by myself because of the number of homeless people and other late-night denizens roaming the streets. On my last night, I had to walk by several hookers on the corner. I fully acknowledge that this is not the hotel's fault but they advertise themselves as a luxury Boutique Hotel and charge accordingly. Upon my check-in, I was surprised by a unadvertised $15 amenity fee per day. They try to make up for this by giving a $5 voucher for the restaurant in the hotel which was poorly staffed and took forever even to get a cup of coffee. My room, although brightly-coloured, felt threadbare and the bathroom still had hair stuck to the sink and bathtub. I probably would have been less bothered by all this had I paid a more reasonable price for the room. One bright spot was that everyone working the front desk was helpful and accommodating. Read less
