On December 4th, I had planned a weekend stay at the Park Central hotel in San Francisco. At the time, I planned my weekend getaway, it was under the Marriott umbrella, where I hold the platinum tier status. However December 18, that changed to the Hyatt umbrella. Under the Hyatt umbrella i hold their Explorist tier status. Upon arriving to the hotel December 18, check in was OK, but of course they were having problems with the system, which is understandable because they just recently switched over. During my stay, I found it very time consuming and frustrating that the only way you could use the elevators with a key card, which meant I had to go downstairs for food deliveries and when my friend came to visit. I can understand having key card access at night but all day is ridiculous. On the 19th, I called the front desk and spoke with Briana and asked about a late check out, I figured it wouldn’t be a problem because with my tier status, I could check out at 2pm. I needed to complete the rest of my Christmas shopping before I left San Francisco. Briana made it seem like she was doing me a favor with her unpleasant attitude and stated to me that she could give me until 1PM. That’s disturbing to me, as I did not pay good money to stay at a hotel to receive poor service. Upon check out, I was asked about my stay and I explained my problems to the attendant, Jacob, who was very understanding and pleasant. He tried to fix the experience, but it was already to late as I was checking out. Fast forward to present, I’ve viewed my Hyatt account to see if I received my points for my stay and I was told that I didn’t earn any points for the trip. I guess apparently, because my hotel reservation was pre-booked during the Marriott affiliation when they transitioned over to Hyatt, I didn’t receive points for either membership because it was lost in transit as a representative told me and there was nothing that could be done about it. I will never stay at this hotel again. Read less

I have stayed at the Park Central quite often throughout the last few years. I'm also pretty high up on the Marriott Chain. My card was declined and they had security at my door harassing me twice in 20 minutes. I'm not riff raff... I've never not paid my bill. And I've never been so harassed at a hotel in my life. I'll never stay there again.… Read more

We recently visited Napa Valley for a week and since we’re foodies, we booked a night in San Francisco for our last night in the area before leaving the next day. Our plan was to enjoy a special (hopefully a DDD or Michelin) dinner in the city. Unfortunately, Covid happened and most things in the city were shut down or were forced to make guests dine outside. We still kept our reservation at this hotel though and have to say that the location is great for those who like to walk (just be sure to walk towards the water on Mission or Market Streets, don’t go in the other direction – it’s beyond nasty there). Check-in was smooth and quick. The staff we encountered, which were very few, were friendly and as helpful as they could be given the Covid scare. The room was very comfy, well-organized and mostly clean/in working order… The thermostat was shattered, so we couldn’t see the screen on it. The hot water in the bathroom worked great. Shower drained well too. TV was very nice and the remote seemed to work well (this seems to be an issue in many hotels). The view from the 31st floor was amazing! We could see two sides of the bay, ships, other large buildings, etc. The property features a lobby bar and restaurant, but neither were opened during our visit. Overall, if I was forced to come back to SFO, I could see staying here again. Read less

I checked in for 1 night with a friend for her birthday. We noticed it the next morning and we were disgusted. I called down to front desk and all they did was offer to replace the pillow case. There was no point as we were checking out ready. I felt like they could have handled that better. There was not even a follow up call or an apology at the very least. It made me question the cleanliness of the hotel. Read less

I liked this hotel until I tried to check in last night and Mike or Michael the overnight front desk "manager" showed me that The Park Central Hotel in San Francisco is NOT A GOOD CHOICE if you want good customer service, value for your money or a place where the customers and guests are anything of importance to the staff. I made my reservation on booking.com for 3 nights. I Uber down to hotel, he says he cant find my reservation so i sit down call booking.com get an agent on phone who calls the front desk and they tell me that they find it so i get up walk to the front desk and he says he then magically finds, give my credit card which says declined. Sit down call my bank totally irritated as i used my card all night with no problems and there is plenty of cash in my account. Finally get bank on phone and they say no hold on card, no problems with card and NO DECLINES OR CHARGE ATTEMPTS SHOWING FROM PARK CENTRAL HOTEL! I keep bank on the line and run the card again with MIKE and again declined. My bank says the show NO DECLINES AND NO ATTEMPTS. At this point I'm over an hour wasting my night, exhausted, confused, extremely not liking Mike's handling of this, his unprofessional tone, rude statements and condescending remarks were an indication that I was not welcome in this yelp 3 star hotel and that he was going to do nothing to understand why this mysterious card processing error was ruining my night. I asked him what amount he was charging my card and he didnt even know of hand. He typed and typed and typed until he finally answered me $414 he said and there was over $1000 in my account which showed zero attempts from Park Central Hotel. He did NOTHING to fix this weird problem and would not even walk me in or do anything that normal hotels do. I know because I worked for Marriott for ten years at different properties. Mike is the reason I will share with as many people, colleagues, websites, blogs, and the world to NEVER STAY AT THE PARK CENTRAL HOTEL SF AS THEY HAVE THE WORST FRONT DESK STAFF, DO NOT CARE ABOUT GOOD SERVICE, DO NOT WELCOME PAYING GUESTS, DISCRIMINATE, AND DO SHADY RUDE AWFUL THINGS TO GUES Read less
