Hotel Triton

Union Square, San Francisco

The hotel

As chic as it is bohemian, Triton is one of the trendiest hotels in San Francisco. With a style all of its own, including suites designed by celebrities and art exhibits often hosted by the artists themselves, it’s one of those hotels you’re proud to ‘drop into conversation’ when you get home. The Triton team say it’s like staying with a fashionable friend who lives right by Union Square and Chinatown. With a Bag Butler to pick up your shopping from Union Square’s boutiques, an organic snack bar in your room, in-room spa treatments, and a wine social hour each evening, we think it’s probably better.

All around good things to say about this place from the location to the rooms to the staff. The exception was that there was a dog barking in the room next to me for much of the night. The front desk was responsive and eventually the little guy quieted down.

Wow! One of my long time favorites, the Hotel Triton, has slipped so much that I doubt I’ll stay here again. I want to emphasize that the staff was lovely. Wow! One of my long time favorites, the Hotel Triton, has slipped so much that I doubt I’ll stay here again. I want to emphasize that the staff was lovely. But the hotel has gone from shabby chic to just shaggy. Our room was really awful. Not only a victim of wear and tear, but also so small two of us couldn’t pass each other in it. The bathroom was also tired and so tiny it was difficult to go inside and close the door without gymnastics. Worse of all, we couldn’t get bottled water! Two bottles were there upon arrival (for three people), but when we asked for more—and offered to pay—on our second day we were told they were out, but we could get some down the street at a convenience store. As we prepared to leave, my husband said, “This place has really gone downhill. I won’t stay here again.” I agreed. But we both felt sad to cross it off our list. Read less

Little Gem in San Francisco. Great customer service. Both Asal and Esmaralda were wonderful. Clean Room. Newly renovated. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Also the location is perfect in the middle of everything. Morning coffee is also great !

Hotel in the heart of San Francisco. I had a pleasant stay here. Staff member Eddie was very helpful when I needed to extend my stay. And when asked for a room with a view, they accommodated me. Thanks!
