We upgraded to the Premium Queen room before arrival, so that may be why we felt our room was big enough, despite others commenting on size but it was certainly enough for us. The bathroom facilities were perfect, the bed comfortable and the cable tv was an additional bonus. The Lounge and Bar area were great too, with the opportunity to play pool and darts a nice way to wind down of an evening, and also spend an hour or so before flying home. One evening (last Thursday) I requested the Thursday Night NFL game on the TV and the last behind the bar happily obliged, which was a nice touch also. Our room was pretty dark, due to only having one very small window and the air conditioning is a bit noisier than you’d hope, but both of these come with the territory of an older hotel and did not affect our overall stay too much. These were the only two issues that kept it from being a five-star stay and I’d happily stay here again if visiting the city in the future, as it’s a perfect location to catch public transport and even walk to many places. On a final note, it was much appreciated that the hotel held our luggage free of charge after check out, whilst we went out for lunch. Thank you King George for a pleasant stay. Read less

We loved this hotel. The rooms are a good size for what you need, with storage under the bed for suitcases. Good sized bathroom. The rooms have iPad and charging docs for USB cables. We had a superior queen room which only had a fan for air con; we took bad with this however it is above the bed so keeps you cool when sleeping. Our room was 601 with a street view and there was noise. The reception did tell us when checking in, however if you have a street facing room expect this. When checking out the hotel kindly let us check out an hour early without additional cost. Location of the hotel is fantastic and the added touches of free coffee and fountain water is great! Pool and darts facilities are also available in the hotel lobby. Would recommend this hotel for a wonderful stay in San Fran! Read less

I would like to thank the cleaning ladies for their housekeeping services which were beyond the expectation. I would like to thank the cleaning ladies for their housekeeping services which were beyond the expectation. I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels around the world but I have never encountered cleaning that meets and exceeds my standards. I am constantly finding dirt, hair and dusty in even 5 star hotels. The rooms are stuffy! We had two rooms between four people. One of the rooms had a bathroom window which opened a small amount only, and a bathroom fan, but the other room had no window or bathroom fan ventilation. Both rooms were the same and priced the same so really this shouldn’t happen! There is no air conditioning but rooms have ceiling fans - though they aren’t great... The rooms have good storage and are confiable otherwise. They are small but airy and beds are great. The reception area is fantastic. There is a water filling station and also they have a jug of water with lemon or lime to help yourself to near the bar. They have some games like darts and pool. Read less

The King George lobby was very nice, had a welcoming experience. The bar area was happening, and had several fun amenities like pool table, darts, and large TV. The room was clean and nice. The only downside is there was no A/C, and was not noted when reserving the room. Good news was the weather was cooler at night so I was able to open… Read more

We stayed here for 4 nights as part of a holiday birthday celebration and it was lovely to receive a complimentary bottle of wine in our room when we arrived! We had a twin room on the 8th floor which was boutique but very adequate for our needs. The property was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. Bathrobes were provided which was a nice touch. We had an issue with the window in our room which we reported to reception for safety reasons and they arranged to have it fixed very quickly. There is no air con in the room but the ceiling fan provided us with perfect ventilation so a/c not required. The hotel has a stylish lobby and free tea and coffee were provided every morning. We also appreciated a couple of complimentary drinks during the happy hour period. The hotel location was perfect for the Hop on Hop off buses and the famous cable car. The hotel does not have a restaurant however there are plenty of restaurants/diners close by for breakfast and dinners. We also visited The Cheesecake Factory for dessert one night! We booked the airport shuttle recommended by the hotel but be wary and leave plenty of time for the journey. We were on the bus for 30minutes before even leaving the city as the driver collected other passengers who were late coming out of their hotels! Not his or the hotels fault but I feel I should mention it. Luckily we made our connection on time but it was close. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at The King George and our time in San Francisco! Read less
