Kimpton Palladian

Seattle, Seattle & Washington State

The hotel

Like a vintage Rolls Royce with leopard-print seats, the Kimpton Palladian delivers luxury with a brilliantly playful side. It’s location could scarcely be better – within walking distance of Pike Place Market and loads of great restaurants, bars and cafés. But such is this 1910 landmark’s hip-vintage design – check out the faux-classical portraits featuring Chuck Norris and other legends – and high-end amenities – the complimentary yoga mats are cool, and we love the speakeasy-style Pennyroyal lounge – that there’s a good chance you’re going to have to remind yourself to leave the Palladian at all. Be sure to raise a locally sourced libation at the daily Social Hour (5:00pm), and take advantage of the complimentary bicycle hire, too.

Love the pictures of Seattle icons in the lobby and on a pillow in each room. Really fun, artistic and eclectic. Price was reasonable through, if you bring a car, expect $45 on your bill for overnight valet. Not unusual for Seattle. Bar upstairs is homey and the peanut shrimp to die for. The have this outer crunchy texture that is amazing and the spicy peanut sauce with some zesty peppers is something we'd love to reproduce at home. Complimentary coffee/juice in the morning and wine in the evening, which we didn't participate in but was nice touch. Overall highly recommended and you can't beat the location if you want easy access to Westlake Center and Pike Place. Read less

The hotel has a good location, unique rooms and is reasonably priced. The bar/restaurant is nice too. They charge an amenity fee that ends up being about $25 a night, which is annoying but I think its the law there. They charge an amenity fee that ends up being about $25 a night, which is annoying but I think its the law there. I was disappointed that they charged a smoking fee to my room when I wasn’t smoking in my room. I just find this to be extremely reckless behavior. Finding pot (it’s legal in Washington) in a hotel room doesn’t mean that people were smoking in the room. And hotels should corroborate with their house keeping staff before assessing hefty smoking fines to innocent guests. I don’t want to have to scour my credit card bill after every hotel stay to make sure no foul play was done by careless hotel staff. I was traveling with a large group, with a bunch of rooms, and we come through Seattle quite often. I’m happy to say I won’t be doing business with this hotel again because of this. If you look at my profile I’m typically leaving very positive reviews of hotels I stay in. I’m a reasonable reviewer I just want people to know what they’re dealing with so hotel chains stop taking advantage of working people. Nothing personal, just business. I don’t have time for this. Thanks!! Read less

Look, we haven’t even checked out of this hotel yet and I’m sitting here writing a review. Look, we haven’t even checked out of this hotel yet and I’m sitting here writing a review. In a world full of Airbnbs (and lord knows that’s what my husband and I typically do), I am SO glad we chose to stay here as we check out Seattle for the first time. Reasons below. 1. Location rocks. A couple blocks off Pike Place Market? Awesome. Walking distance to basically anything you wanna do/see? Also awesome. 2. Service is killer. Like, more than “we’d like more of your money in the future, please.” We arrived, checked in, and immediately got great recommendations on things to do. Got free postcards to send or keep. Got told about free coffee/tea in the mornings and free wine every evening. Legit. They also texted once we got to our room to see if we needed anything. When the folks in our adjoining room decided to smoke some pot, we called down just to ensure we didn’t get charged for these dummies smoking in the hotel. They immediately moved our room and upgraded us to a suite for free. And by immediately, I mean there was 2 minutes between us calling down and then calling us back and bringing keys to the new place, with an offer of moving all our stuff for us. 3. Small stuff matters. If you choose to forego house keeping, they give you a credit to use in the attached bar/restaurant. The vibe here is cool. Check some of the photos to see more. In a nutshell, as some who typically goes the Airbnb route, this stay was amazing. Enough that I’m going to look for more Kimpton hotels when we’re visiting other places. And that’s something I never really thought I’d say about a hotel chain. Basically, book it. The end. Read less

We recently stayed for birthday weekend getaway, and needless to stay are expectations were blown away. The team at Palladian went above and beyond. When we arrived we were greeted by the valet team, who assisted us with our luggage to the front desk. The front desk agent who checked us in was amazing. We got a great room, and decor is beautiful. It is really a great boutique hotel, with so much Seattle themed amenities. What really stood out was the service. I can’t say that enough. Even though we were there for a birthday getaway, we didn’t say anything in advance. After checking into our room, we had a knock on the door. To our surprise the hotel had sent up a lovely flower arrangement and birthday amenity for my wife who was celebrating the big 4-0! That really made the weekend start off great. Penny Royale is a great bar with amazing cocktails and good food. It was a place to be during happy hour. The hotel is in a great location. You can easily walk to almost 99% of all the sights and attractions you want to visit in Seattle. We loved being so close to Pikes Place Market, the shopping malls, and the waterfront. After this weekend we know where we will stay anytime we visit Seattle, and it’s at Palladian. The hotel from start to finish made this such a memorable stay. I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. Read less

At the Kimpton Palladian we enjoyed the morning coffee and pastries and evening happy hour. The staff is friendly and helpful. The comfortable rooms are well thought out with lots of amenities for the size of the rooms. This property is about 2 blocks (up the hill) from Pike's Market and close walking distance to other downtown sights and good restaurants (we loved Le Pichet block away). Read less
