Kimpton Palladian

Seattle, Seattle & Washington State

The hotel

Like a vintage Rolls Royce with leopard-print seats, the Kimpton Palladian delivers luxury with a brilliantly playful side. It’s location could scarcely be better – within walking distance of Pike Place Market and loads of great restaurants, bars and cafés. But such is this 1910 landmark’s hip-vintage design – check out the faux-classical portraits featuring Chuck Norris and other legends – and high-end amenities – the complimentary yoga mats are cool, and we love the speakeasy-style Pennyroyal lounge – that there’s a good chance you’re going to have to remind yourself to leave the Palladian at all. Be sure to raise a locally sourced libation at the daily Social Hour (5:00pm), and take advantage of the complimentary bicycle hire, too.

The location was so convenient that we we able to walk everywhere. The hotel was really nice. The entire staff was exceedingly helpful and friendly. I loved the funky celebrity-turned-General decor. The bathroom was beautiful and very clean though I was sad we didn't have a tub in our room like many of the pictures online. Overall it was a great place to stay and one I would recommend if you're visiting Seattle. Read less

It has taken me a while to write this review, as I was very upset by how the hotel handed their mistakes. We arrived at about 2:30pm with check in at 3. We were waiting at checkin and there was a family loudly arguing with staff. The rooms they booked was not available and they were not happy. They were offered a free meal in the restaurant and free drinks. We were told there was a delay with our room. There was a staff change and finally at 4:30 our room was ready. We have been to Seattle several times and had seen the markets so waited in the very small lobby, not thinking our room would be 1 1/2 hours late. When we could finally check in there was no apology, but we were told we had an upgrade. The upgrade was to a disabled room that had a king bed and a sofa bed, that when opened took up any extra space in the room (we had our son with us). The bathroom shower water spread out onto the entire bathroom floor and there was nowhere to put clothing or toiletries in the bathroom. This was a very, very uncomfortable room. I was disappointed with the way our delay was handled, there was no apology for the delay or thankyou for waiting, which is all we expected. This incident showed me that complaining rudely and loudly gets you a free meal and drinks. The location of this hotel is great and I am sure some of the rooms are nice. Sadly we wont be staying here again, although we do love the restaurant and maybe we will eat here again in the future. Read less

I had never stayed at this property and had heard great things, and found out they are all true. Beautifully designed spaces, wonderful bar and restaurant (tried both) and a great location. Everyone is super helpful and friendly, from valet staff to front desk and serving staff. Ryan at front desk was so kind to send a bottle of wine to the room for my birthday. I would love to go back on our next visit to Seattle. Read less
