The Maxwell

Seattle, Seattle & Washington State

The hotel

Some places just stand out from the crowd — and The Maxwell is one of them. It could be the décor, with the understated red brick façade jazzed up inside with touches like a giant mosaic pineapple, sunglass-worthy paint choices, children’s art tiles around the indoor pool, and funky furnishings, like bright magenta pod chairs paired with lime green tables. Not just bold on the surface, it buzzes with a vibrant spirit, serves ‘Afternoon Delights’ in the shape of pineapple cupcakes, delivers a cool casual menu at Pineapple Bistro & Bar, and rents out vivid yellow beach cruiser bikes – ideal for trips to nearby landmarks like Seattle Center and Space Needle.

Although it was too short of a stay, I really enjoyed the quirkiness of this hotel. Check-in and check-out were pleasant, rooms were clean, staff was friendly, food was good and beer was cold. Would love to spend more time in Seattle and The Maxwell Hotel is a perfect headquarter location to do just that. Would recommend and would return.

Very comfortable room. Cosy bed. Not enough tea sachet's in the hotel room, and no decaff tea available. Otherwise very good. Staff on the desk very helpful and efficient at check-in and check-out. Also helpful in providing local information.

I travel for work a lot. The Maxwell is very unique. The positive attitude of the staff was wonderful. Everyone was extremely helpful and always smiling. The unique touches made this birthday outing with my wife truly special. We even borrowed the bikes and rode around Seattle Center. Highly recommend the Maxwell Hotel!

We really liked the relaxed atmosphere. The room was comfortable, the service was really good. The final bill gets spendy the price we got from hotel.com didn't include the fees and if you park at the hotel, it's an additional $40 per night. There is a lot across the street that is less expensive but not as secure and you can't go in/out w/o paying each time. The cookies/cupcake in the afternoon w/ free coffee is a nice touch. There is free coffee and water in the rooms also which is nice. We have netflix and amazon prime and we were able to mirror it on the TV which is a good option to have. It's a good location. We walked everywhere from here. There is a very good thai restaurant next door for dinner option and many coffee shops w/in a few blocks from the hotel which is very convenient. The hotel sells some breakfast foods but it's limited. There is a little stuffed animal dog in each room which is a cute touch. If you want to keep it, it's $25 (some of the money goes to charity). We had a very nice stay overall. We had a nice view of the space needle too! Read less

Very nice. A bit pricey, Free shuttle service is being discontinued, which is sad as it helped to offset some of the cost of staying at the hotel. THe Resort fee is high for being a regular hotel with no real resort features.
