The Maxwell

Seattle, Seattle & Washington State

The hotel

Some places just stand out from the crowd — and The Maxwell is one of them. We love its décor, its understated red brick façade jazzed up inside, with touches like a giant mosaic pineapple and sunglass-worthy paint choices. Check out the funky furnishings, like bright magenta pod chairs paired with lime green tables. The hotel also buzzes with a vibrant spirit, serves ‘Afternoon Delights’ in the shape of pineapple cupcakes, and has a cool casual menu at Pineapple Bistro & Bar. Why not rent out one of its vivid yellow beach cruiser bikes and explore the nearby landmarks.

Found this hotel on HOTEL TONIGHT and it was a very pleasant stay and experience overall. The draw honestly was the location and fact that they are themed around pineapples, which was funny at first thought but honestly worked out to be something to talk about.

This is a very nice hotel in a great location near Seattle Center, with lots of restaurants nearby. However, it charges a $25 per day 'amenity' fee that covers amenities many other hotels include in their room price such as in-room coffee/tea and high speed Wifi. This fee is charged on every room regardless of whether you want to use those amenities. It's not optional, plus parking is $37 per night. As a result, the online price is not as reasonable as it appears. Read less

We had a 2 bedroom almost suite-making it convenient for people with different sleeping patterns. Loved the ever changing screen in the lobby, the puzzle in the elevator, the pineapple cookies and the friendliness of the staff. Always ready to help with an umbrella, directions, restaurant recommendations, etc.

Pineapple was a little lacking in flavor. The biggest disappointment was the lack of food/restaurant service for breakfast and dinner. Otherwise, location, comfort and garage met the mark. Would also have liked a hand held or directional shower in the bathroom.

Always a great experience this hotel is completely devoted to their brand of creating a treehouse with cookies (AMAZING COOKIES). Always clean, always comfortable, and always with little extras like the ability to stream to the TV and cookies. Did I mention the cookies?
