I called on a Thursday to inquire if they ever make exceptions for the 2 night minimum on weekends. The front desk agent was super friendly and explained that it depends on a few factors, but indeed they were able to get me in for on night the next night. When I balked at the price ($241) she put me on hold and came back with a lower price since it's the end of the high season. So awesome! I have stayed at the Freestone before - the last time was in a cabin since I had my canine companion. The cabin was great - but the room (#9) I got at the inn this time was amazing! It's spacious with high ceilings, great bathroom, super comfy bed, deck with adirondack chairs, and a fireplace. I was a little bummed the restaurant was closed for a private event, but the pizza at Jack's Hut was surprisingly good. The hot tub is great, customer service superb, and the complimentary breakfast is excellent (make your own waffle station ftw!). The Freestone is a warm and inviting respite - a perfect place to treat yourself after a long day of adventuring in the North Cascades. Read less

Booked this as a stopover on the way to the coast, what a fabulous stay. Staff were fabulous and room large, clean and very comfortable. They even had a fishing rod for guests to borrow. The only downside was the restaurant was closed on Sunday night but we had excellent pizza at jacks hut across the car park

Lovely hotel with great staff, beautiful rooms, setting, restaurant, pool and hot tub. Everything you need for a great stay! Enjoyed the patio, a soak in the hot tub and dinner. Then relaxed in front of the fireplace in our room. Had a great nights sleep. Would go back, no question! Loved it!

I have fond memories of staying at the lodge 15 years ago. My more recent visit was mostly disappointing for $300/night. I would stay there again if they get the pricing aligned with the quality of service. Pros - friendly staff, great breakfast, clean and nicely decorated room, beautiful location. Cons - The place was understaffed. We were not offered any help carrying our luggage up the stairs to the second floor. A towel and floating device were left laying on the lawn in front off the small lake all day and still laying there the next morning. Kind of sloppy and takes away from the otherwise pretty view of the lake. The second floor hallway had a strong, unpleasant smell. Fortunately the odor was not in the room. Regarding the staffing - the front desk manager told us that it was hard to find employees in the area and the existing staff was working long stretches without a day off. Read less
