The hotel

You may just find it hard to leave Freestone Inn behind. Ranked one of Travel and Leisure Magazine’s Top 25 Lodges in America, it’s the kind of place you start imagining what life ‘could’ be like. With just three dozen rooms, cabins and lodges, its intimacy and lakeside setting are instantly relaxing, and every room features a fireplace, outdoor space, and lake views. Even the hot tub has lake views. It may be small, but there’s plenty to do, with a summer pool, bikes, fly-fishing, and casual yet gourmet lakeside dining. Life centres around Jack’s Hut, whose Concierge can arrange outdoor recreation in Methow Valley’s famous trails, and where you can watch NFL on the 50” TV with warm drinks or cocktails, and children can catch their daily movie.

I am beyond happy we decided to go with Freestone as our Yoga retreat lodging. The staff were so friendly and always went the extra mile when we had requests. The grounds are so beautiful, you feel like you're a world away from the city. I highly recommend Freestone to anyone wanting a spectacular getaway.

This was our second visit at the Freestone Inn... we stayed this Memorial Day weekend and last. Our first trip was fantastic! Recommended it to many. This second trip was even more amazing and just reinforced our first impression last year! Cozy, beautiful rooms. The views are spectacular. Dogs, kids, families, couples of all ages are just happy and joyful. You can tell that guests' enjoyment is the priority: from the fresh cookies at the front desk, to cozy blankets on the back deck to a gourmet hot breakfast that's part of your stay... nothing is overlooked. I also have to compliment the staff. They work tirelessly, always with a smile and care about the Inn. Patty, the chef and his assistant... just to name a few. Truly a special place. Please don't change a thing! Read less

Very friendly and helpful staff! We loved the fresh baked cookies at the front desk and we're still thinking about them after we got home. The pizza at Jack's Hut is delicious, great service all around.

This is the third time we have stayed at the Freestone and we absolutely love it. The customer service is outstanding, and the food at the restaurant is fantastic. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway surrounded by the beauty of nature with top notch amenities, this is your spot.

A partial list of what's wrong with this incredibly overpriced cabin: * The fireplace doesn't work, or no comprehensible instructions were provided (and this was a midwinter trip). * The kitchen sink doesn't work properly - it's outfitted only with a spray handle, which soaked several of us by surprise. * Some of the electrical sockets are dead,… Read more
A partial list of what's wrong with this incredibly overpriced cabin: * The fireplace doesn't work, or no comprehensible instructions were provided (and this was a midwinter trip). * The kitchen sink doesn't work properly - it's outfitted only with a spray handle, which soaked several of us by surprise. * Some of the electrical sockets are dead, as I discovered when my laptop battery ran down. * The 'hot water' is sort-of lukewarm at best (and again, this was a midwinter trip). * The 'TV' was audio-only. * One needs a bloodhound to locate a number of important light switches. * All of the information in the welcome binder is woefully out of date. * And then they have the nerve to ask the guests to do half of the cleaning for them. (I mean, stripping beds?) Read less
