The hotel

Sitting right on top of Pier 67, this is Seattle's original waterfront hotel and quite the local landmark. It’s always been a quirky and cool spot, since it was built in 1962 — KISS parked their platform boots here and The Beatles once famously fished out of their hotel room window. We don’t recommend that, of course, but you can imagine the playful and chilled vibe that you get at the the Edgewater. Expect quirky, cosy rooms with beautiful views of Elliott Bay, happy hours showcasing amazing house concoctions, and a restaurant serving the freshest organic and local dishes. Take in a bit of live music at the weekend and dine outdoors to make the most of those water views.

Where is it

On Pier 67, overlooking Puget Sound. Within walking distance of the Space Needle and Pike Place Market. Bus stop nearby. Transfer time from Seattle Airport: 35 minutes.

The Edgewater ist perfectly located if you arrive via ferry and want to explore downtown amd the vicinity. The Junior Suite with harbour view was cozy. The restaurant offers high quality food. The service is very friendly and competent.

This hotel is clean, service is friendly and great location for easy walking to attractions. The price is on the expensive side and hotel does have a resort fee, with little amenities offered, so be aware. Parking is also on the expensive side and is only valet.

Older hotels should be able to provide acceptable internet download speeds. 4th floor over water room speeds were between 0.8 and 1.7. I mentioned it on checkout and was told they were looking into the matter.

Room had damaged, dirty and stained bedding (tears/small holes, hair, and small brown, red and yellow patches and marks all over sheets, mattress and pillows); Cobwebs hanging from ceiling and Smelled very musty and unclean. We used our travel pillows/blankets just to get sleep (arrived very late at night from the East coast). No mattress… Read more
Room had damaged, dirty and stained bedding (tears/small holes, hair, and small brown, red and yellow patches and marks all over sheets, mattress and pillows); Cobwebs hanging from ceiling and Smelled very musty and unclean. We used our travel pillows/blankets just to get sleep (arrived very late at night from the East coast). No mattress protector on bed was horrifying as stains were clearly present on mattress. (However, Bathroom was clean) Given that this is an accessible room, it is absolutely necessary to have mattress covers for hygienic purposes- and there was a large patch on the mattress itself as if someone had had an accident 😖. Incredibly disappointed- I feel like we wasted our money and had such high hopes for our brief stay at this property. The view is beautiful but the smell permeating the building is very reminiscent of must and mothballs, which was also difficult to tolerate. We changed our flights to leave as soon as possible in the early hours of the morning because we didn’t want to sleep on the bed longer than necessary. Very unfortunate. I hate even writing such a negative review, but if I had known it would be like that, we would not have booked this hotel. Read less
