Beautiful and very clean hotel. We chose the room with a king size bed. The room was very spacious with a large walk-in shower, mini fridge and a great selection of Starbucks coffee and teas in the room.

This was my family’s first time to Charleston and we were so happy to have selected the Grand Bohemian for our stay. We love the Kessler collection and enjoy the experience of staying at a hotel such as this one. What really took it over the top for us was the roof top restaurant called Eleve and all the wonderful people that work there including the manager which made us feel special during our stay. We had plenty of options to dine around town but it seemed we could never leave Eleve because of the food and service. I tip my hat to the Chef because breakfast, lunch and dinner was amazing. Again, please consider staying at this property and enjoy the rooftop experience as I promise you the manager and the team will take great care of you. Housekeeping was not operating due to COVID. But anything we needed we just asked the front desk. Room was spacious and cool, once we had been there for a day. We had a corner room that looked over toward the fire station. They weren’t any bother. And traffic wasn’t a bother either, not sure if that’s because of low occupancy or if that is normal. Bed was comfortable! Visited the bar up on floor 4 and service was fine. Sadly outside furniture was covered due to rain predictions so we didn’t get to enjoy that. Hotel is in a great location for walking. We would stay again for the rate we paid( great deal) and the service. Read less

The rooftop bar Eleve was on point! Great drinks, music and vibe. Close to shops and a block from Hyman's restaurant, perfect Charleston center location. The property reopened a couple of weeks ago. This hotel is part of the Marriott Autograph collection and therefore in their "Premium " category. Unfortunately, aside from the price, this recent stay had no connection in any way to the term Premium. All amenities from the property had been eliminated. The $300 per night they charge was probably about the same as the pre-closure rate. They did not disclose any of this at the time the reservation was made. Specifically, when you arrive, the desk at the driveway is vacant. So much for valet parking. They said they offer restaurant service for breakfast. Not exactly. As a Lifetime Titanium, you're given a voucher for a pathetic room service continental breakfast. Included in this option is juice or coffee. You have to pay if you want both. The gym is closed. After you check in, you are told that self parking is available 2.5 blocks away in an open unwatched area on a dark side street. They then charge $15 for that. Water in the room? If you want it, you can pay $5 for it. The best we learned on the second day. We returned around 4:00 and the room was not made. We called downstairs and were told they are not offering housekeeping during the stay. This must be said again. They do not clean the room, clean the bathroom, make the bed or change the towels during your stay! You think they might mention that little detail when you make the reservation and especially when you check in. Not a word was said! The manager acknowledged the problem, but said because of the pandemic these cutbacks were necessary. Really? The pandemic didn't prohibit them from warning about these conditions? Is the pandemic responsible for the premium price? The stay that was originally booked for three nights was cut to two. A more senior manager did agree to refund one night. This disaster was entirely of their own making. Over the last 20+ years, I have had more than 1000 nights at Marriott properties. This was far and away, the worst. Read less
