Rooms are definitely dated but quite spacious. The views from the rooms themselves are not as great as advertised, just know this going in. The furnishings are old and the carpet has an old, wet feeling to them, especially after it rains. I don't understand why beachfront resorts still have carpet if they don't maintain/clean it thoroughly. The bathrooms (even in suites) still have a shower/tub combo and aren't very large. The wifi is spotty--I was working remote and could do video conferencing most of the time. TVs were nice and had chromecast (could watch Netflix broadcasted from my iPad). Not sure what the resort fee covered, since almost everything has a fee (besides parking, and it was pretty easy to find parking on property)--beach chairs, umbrellas, bikes, etc. Chairs/Umbrellas set up on the each are more expensive than the ones that the hotel loan you to carry yourself ($38/day versus $25 per day). The bikes are kind of terrible kids bikes (no lights, gears, and you have to do a back brake). Towels were free and you could have/use as many as you needed. The location is excellent though. The grounds and the property is well maintained. The beach was beautiful and there are lots of restaurants, shops, grocery stores, nearby. The staff was excellent (Mary at concierge, the guys at the Seaside Shack, the staff at the Palmetto Market who make the coffees). They have Peet's coffee at the market (not a barista, but the cold brew is good). Covid-related precautions: -All the staff wore masks (some wore gloves as well and face shields). Pretty good compliance by the employees. Check in area pretty secure with sanitized pens, plexi shields, hand sanitizers. All the staff need to get the temperature checked before starting their shifts (they wear a "I'm cool" sticker). -Hand sanitizer stations near restaurants, markets, at every cashier station. Maybe some could be added to the hallways? -Most guests wore masks (not at the pool, beach, or sometimes in the hallways, but better than I expected. -They gave you a welcome kit with a mask, one sanitizing wipe, and clean pens/pads. Frequently touched things like couch pillows have been removed. -The hallways are open air (Open airways and open staircases). This allows for good ventilation and made me comfortable moving around the hotel. -The rooms didn't feel super clean (probably because they feel dated), but I wiped everything down myself with disinfecting wipes when I arrived and declined housekeeping during my entire stay. -Outdoor tables (but shielded from rain) available for HH Prime and the Palmetto market area. -Pool got pretty crowded sometimes, but there were definitely times when you could socially distance (in the water and on chairs). I would never sit next to someone without a mask during Covid times and it was pretty easy to do this at the pool most of the time. The beach is so wide and spacious that it's easy to socially distance. You can even bike along the beach too, which was nice. -Didn't use the gym but they have pretty extensive cleaning routines every two hours. -The spa felt very safe. They have a lot of precautions in place and the therapist will wear a mask during treatments (you have to wear one as well), and they get more time to clean rooms between treatments (25 minutes). Virginia was great and very professional. You and the therapist both wash hands before treatment. They give you a bottle of water (instead of a cup) after the treatment. All in all, this is a pretty nice place to have a beach vacation. I think they're taking as many covid precautions as possible, and while you cannot control what other guests do, I found the experience to be pretty safe and responsible. You are mostly doing outdoor activities anyways, and the rooms themselves are spacious enough to hang out in when it's raining. It is a family resort (lots of kids), but it wasn't overbearing. A nice resort experience! Read less

The service was exceptional in the restaurants, front desk, valet, etc. We were celebrating my friend's 60th birthday. One of our guests called ahead and the rooms had balloons and homemade desserts that were exceptional. The rooms were large and included refrigerators, coffee makers and a complete high top with four bar stools for dining. Our room had a balcony with complete privacy from other rooms. The beach was an easy walk and the pools were not crowded. In the evening the property is beautiful, with lighting and roaring fire pits. We rented bikes from the Bike Doctor and they were delivered to the hotel (very convenient). We had private yoga on the beach in the morning and we recommend Crystal at Island Yoga! The Omni is a beautiful resort and great for a family vacation. The steak at their local restaurant was excellent! Read less

A true paradise vacation! The ambiance at the hotel is so relaxing with the beautiful landscaping, 3 large pools, multiple seating options, live music, and nighttime fire pits & courtyard. It’s very easy to practice social distancing here because there are so many wonderful outdoor seating options, a huge beach, and a very large room that even has a table if you prefer to eat indoors. They opened the newly renovated adult pool and it is gorgeous! If you are worried about crowds, just plan your pool times accordingly. We often had the pool to ourselves morning and evening knowing that it gets most busy in the afternoon which was a great time to go swim in the ocean or plan an excursion. Even when we chose to swim in the busier times, everyone was very respectful of space and stayed with their own groups. The guests were very respectful and all wore masks when indoors and the staff wore masks 100% of the time all while cheerfully serving everyone. Top notch resort that we highly recommend! Read less
