The hotel location is great, the rooms are not what you would expect from a Hilton property and need to be refurbished. The check in was slow, but the staff were excellent through out the property. Overall good experience with this property.

Where do I start?.... (Back story) I stayed at HMBR July 2018. 3rd day there I received an alert on my American Express card stating that my card had been charged. Knowing that my bill was already paid in full, I went to the front desk to inquire about the mystery charge. The 1st person I talked to said it was a charge for incidentals. Not being satisfied with that answer, I demanded to speak with the front desk manager. She pulled my bill up on a computer and could not explain why the charge was there. She credited my account and apologized for the mistake. I was satisfied with the result. Fast forward to June 2019...Stayed there with my daughter for Father`s day weekend. Upon arrival around 1245 pm. Our room was not ready but staff said it would be ready in 1 hour. We returned later and was assigned a room on the 4th floor. Entering the room I quickly noticed the ocean view was blocked by air units and vents from the lobby. The noise from the units were unbearable. I returned to the front desk and asked for another room. They told me that it would be awhile but We did get another room on the 4th floor. As we entered that room, I noticed the air was not working. My daughter went into the bathroom and was frightened by deep mold covering the shower grout. She then screamed that there was blood on the bathroom floor and wall. We fled the room and raced back to the front desk. I demanded a third room. The front desk manager said " if we fixed all the issues in that room could you stay in there"? I asked him if he was trying to inject some dry humor onto the situation? I then asked him would he stay in a room that has mold and blood in it? He got my point and assigned us another room. He stated that he would "accompany us to the room for inspection". After giving us the key, he asked "do you want me to go with you"? I looked at my daughter in amazement. Isn`t that what he just said?...As we turn to head to the elevator, the "manager" seemed to disappear behind the front desk. After waiting for him to reappear, I had to ask another staff member to find him. He finally reemerged from the abyss and escorted us to the 3rd room. After a brief inspection, we decided that ours basic needs were met. 3rd of 4th day at hotel...my daughter purchases ONE drink at the poolside bar. She used her bank card for payment. Later that evening, she checked her bank card and to our surprise, the bar had charged her for the drink then charged another $68.00 for some strange reason. We contacted the front desk and was told the see the Food & beverage Manager. After speaking with him, he told us that he couldn`t find the ticket or the charge. As I demanded the he dig further into the charge, he went back to do a more detailed investigation. He finally came back with a printed receipt stating that the $68.00 charge was not showing on her bar statement. A closer look at the receipt, my daughter noticed that the card number did not match my her card. At that point, I was super angry. I felt that the hotel was stealing money from my daughter. The F&B manager stated that there was nothing more he could do and attempted to walk away with a dismissive attitude. I angrily stated the if this issue wasn`t quickly resolved "I was calling the police to report the matter as a theft". He did an about face and said he would make more attempts to resolve the problem. After approximately 40 minutes, he called and said he discovered the ticket and would be issuing a refund. The refund process would take a couple of days. As of this review, the $68.00 charge is still pending. B.T.W. My daughter contacted her bank and disputed the charge. What a sad ordeal for a Hilton honors member.... Read less

There are so many things I want to write about this hotel- some good, some bad. I've been staying at various Hilton properties for a very long time and have high expectations for all Hilton properties and this one I definitely expected more because it's a "resort." Check-in was easy because we use the app and are able to select our room before we arrive. It was a busy check-in day so we weren't able to obtain assistance from the bellman. Most people unloaded themselves. Parking was easy as there's a parking deck. The Room- This was my least favorite thing about this hotel. It's super small and could use a deep cleaning, a paint job, new carpet & new furniture. The room with double beds is too small to even accommodate 4 people. The bathroom was SUPER TIGHT. The tub had a rust spot and I still have no idea what was going on with the ceiling. Literally, only person can fit in there and even that's a tight squeeze. The AC was REALLY LOUD too. We ran it all night, but we didn't get any sleep because of the noise. The Pools- Both pools were clean. I like that there were two on separate sides. If you get out early, you can get a seat otherwise, it may be difficult to find seating. Plenty of towels and entertainment by the pool too. Note: Kids have access to the Splash Park at the Embassy Suites which is an easy walk along the boardwalk. There's VERY LIMITED seating at the Splash Park. Beachcombers: The food is decent, but the service isn't great- at all. On a busy Saturday, they had only 1 waitress overseeing the entire area. It took about 35 minutes to get our food but was delivered by a pleasant server who made sure we had everything we needed before he left the table. Cafe Amalfi: We ate buffet here and was seated with Ms. Sandra daily. She's a sweetheart and catered so nicely to our family. You can choose a continental breakfast, buffet or order from the menu- we were so excited that they had Turkey Sausage and Chicken Apple Sausage- both great alternatives to pork products. We also ordered dinner from Cafe Amalfi and I was pleasantly surprised, the food was good. I would suggest putting Cafe Amalfi menus in the rooms. We had to go downstairs and get menus. The Beach- Beach chairs are not provided by the hotel, instead you much purchase from the lifeguard who is only available 9-4. The hotel is convenient to an outlet, Walmart and other restaurants and shopping. If they gave the rooms a facelift, this would be a gem. Note: Brown carpet and accessories will dim any room. Rip up that nasty brown carpet, update the bed skirts with more pleasant color, replace the side chair and give the walls a refreshing paint color! The room alone made this review a 3. With some upgrades, I would stay again. Read less
