Omni Dallas Hotel

Dallas, Texas

The hotel

A boomerang-shaped hotel with an ever-changing LED light show, the newly opened Omni Dallas Hotel is 23 stories of glass, steel and stylish razzle-dazzle. It even glamorously had Larry Hagman and Linda Grey at the grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony! Sleek and modern on the outside and lit by neon-type horizontal lighting on each floor that is very cool. The public areas of the hotel are equally well done including numerous indoor and outdoor fireplaces and fire pits and some great added touches including unique art in the rooms that are all for sale. The best part about the Omni is its terrific rooftop infinity pool and bar. With soaring Dallas summer temperatures it is definitely the place to relax and take in spectacular city views. Sweeping views can also be enjoyed from the Mokara Spa which offers a full range of spa treatments including a special treatments where couples can unwind together in one of the deluxe couple’s treatment rooms. Morsels the coffee bar which includes Collections Gift Shop, is a fantastic showcase of art with an assortment of books and unique gifts to purchase. See if you can find the great colouring book for children and adults of the Nasher Sculpture collection!

Simply asked for a few things, grown up glasses instead of cups, never heard from anyone, TV remote did not work, never heard from anyone, luckily I could turn TV off, coffee maker did not work, never heard from anyone. Guess there were to many people at hotel this night to provide the basics. Won't make this mistake again if I can help it.

We took a weekend trip and decided to stay at the Omni. We wanted a location close to the areas we planned on exploring. We took a weekend trip and decided to stay at the Omni. We wanted a location close to the areas we planned on exploring. Check-in was quick and easy, and we were lucky enough to find a parking spot right across the street. ( No parking fees on weekends) The room was very clean but the decor was a little dated, bland. My husband did not sleep well on the bed, he felt the mattress needed to be replaced. I agree, they weren't the most comfortable. Amenities included a Keurig Coffee brewer with coffee,(Large bottle of water priced at $8.00) a desk with a variety of plug-ins for devices, and a nice size TV. There was an ironing board, iron and a safe in the closet. The bathroom was very clean and included the usual amenities. The staff was friendly, any requests were taken care of right away. There is a nice bar downstairs and two restaurants, and a very large beautiful lobby. One of the nights we stayed, the guests in the room next to ours came in about 1:00 am and were very very loud. We gave it 15 minutes and then called the front desk. Within five minutes they sent a security guard up to the room to handle the situation. I'm not sure what he said, but we didn't hear a peep after that! Read less

This hotel was beautiful. I was on the 21st floor. Beautiful view of the city and of the Pegasus just outside. The room was large! The curved wall of windows was amazing. We even slept with the window open to keep the view. The pool area was smaller than I would imagine for such a large hotel. The pool also had people blaring their own inappropriate music and no one seemed to do anything about it. Now this is not the hotel's fault that people don;t seem to have manners or understand that not everyone wants to hear Cardi B. The room key situation was irritating. You had to use it to use the elevator. I understand the security component, however my keys were not working. I was not the only one complaining about this. I also was not keeping my key near a credit card or cell phone. We didn't get to eat at the Biergarten because the kitchen was already closed. I would like to come back and try the other restaurants on site. We did eat at the Owners box and it was good. We also had the breakfast buffet. I have been to many Omni hotels and usually get the breakfast buffet. This one was very good. The only complaint was the biscuits were hard from the heating lamps. The french toast was amazing. This hotel was one of my favorite Omni Hotels. Read less
