Omni Dallas Hotel

Dallas, Texas

The hotel

A boomerang-shaped hotel with an ever-changing LED light show, the newly opened Omni Dallas Hotel is 23 stories of glass, steel and stylish razzle-dazzle. It even glamorously had Larry Hagman and Linda Grey at the grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony! Sleek and modern on the outside and lit by neon-type horizontal lighting on each floor that is very cool. The public areas of the hotel are equally well done including numerous indoor and outdoor fireplaces and fire pits and some great added touches including unique art in the rooms that are all for sale. The best part about the Omni is its terrific rooftop infinity pool and bar. With soaring Dallas summer temperatures it is definitely the place to relax and take in spectacular city views. Sweeping views can also be enjoyed from the Mokara Spa which offers a full range of spa treatments including a special treatments where couples can unwind together in one of the deluxe couple’s treatment rooms. Morsels the coffee bar which includes Collections Gift Shop, is a fantastic showcase of art with an assortment of books and unique gifts to purchase. See if you can find the great colouring book for children and adults of the Nasher Sculpture collection!

For the price point I paid on a holiday weekend I expected the luxury of a luxury hotel but what I got was a room with 2 TVs that didn’t work and air conditioner that did not cool the room down enough and top it off we ordered room service for breakfast and the food was 1 star at best cold and my avocado toast had brown avocado and the other dish… Read more

Horrible and they will do NOTHING TO MAKE THIS TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE RIGHT! Read less

Joe the manager is rude and frankly reminds me of a TSA or DMV employee based on the one interaction I had. Further, he eluded that his arrogance toward me when I needed a new key was because I was with a group that was “loud” the prior night. I told him that I wasn’t part of that late night event but his behavior was terrible. He had name badge and no business cards. I’m an Omni select guest member and this will be the last time I stay at an Omni. They need to vet theirs employees more thoroughly and get rid of the ones that have antagonistic personalities. Inhospitable is the antithesis of hospitality management. The rest of the staff was courteous and professional so I won’t judge them based on the action of one individual, like he did me. Read less

Selected by my employer due to its proximity to the Dallas Convention Center. Check-in was swift and without issue. Room on the 18th floor was very nice and well appointed with safe, in room coffee and a small dorm sized refrigerator. Full closet with hangers. King size bed and comfortable linens. Large bathroom with a TV in the mirror. Very nice overall. Issues: the refrigerator barely cools. I had engineering bring up a replacement - same issue so couldn't store beverages or leftover food. (maybe this is a wine fridge) No microwave. Sleeping days and working nights is an issue. Even with the do-not-disturb sign place on the door knob, housekeeping knocked almost every day. Doors slamming and general hallway noise made sleeping during the day difficult. Food options in the nearby area are a bit sparse. Walking about at night presents security issues. Read less

Hotel looks great and is in a relatively clean part of downtown. Good steak restaurant, but not many food options in walking distance. Rooms are decent size and clean but hotel is showing its age. Good sports bar too.

Guests smoking marijuana in the parking garage was our greeting on 12/24 upon our return to the hotel after Christmas Eve dinner. We felt unsafe as we had to walk from our car to the elevator. During our first morning here (12/25), we overheard what sounded like a fight and things being thrown in a nearby unit. We later woke up again, this time to kids banging on walls and screaming. The guest services manager did the best she could to relocate us to a better room that took two attempts. In short, do not stay here. This is not a family friendly, safe, or comfortable place for decent couples and families. if you smoke marijuana, don't care about others' children or experiences, then you found your place. What is next? The last day of our stay featured the following: a. a woman dry humping a man on an elevator, both of who were belligerent and did not realize they had missed their floor. We witnessed this as the elevator arrived on our floor (23rd) as we were leaving to a family dinner. Disgusting. If you have kids, what do you tell them after they see this? b. Once we catch another elevator, this time to the parking garage, we are greeted by the fine smell of marijuana. Deeply permeating in the elevator and obviously disgusting. I called the Omni and requested to speak with a general manager, since I felt this elevator should be cleaned and aired out. Instead the phone representative was surprised it was not caught during the "hourly" check and let me know someone would work on it. No update since then. c. The same night (12/26) we returned to the hotel and in the elevator up to the room we were greeted with a marijuana odor again. Different elevator, same disgusting scent. Omni Management: Patrol and monitor your parking garage. On 12/24 the marijuana smell in the parking garage came from 3 distinct vehicles in the garage that were on and stationary. The odor was obvious and your poor company culture failed to protect the guest experience for guests like us. COVID Comments: multiple elevators smelled, handprints not cleaned, and multiple guests observed without a mask. No manager/oversight effort witnessed either. Read less
