While pricey, The View hotel is simply perfect for a 2 night stay, especially if you are self driving and intend to, say, drive the Scenic Valley Loop drive (which you MUST DO!) and maybe a Mystery Valley tour or a sunset or sunrise tour. All tours start here anyway. I'd say AVOID those open trucks for the loop road, you will choke on dust the… Read more

All tours start here anyway. I'd say AVOID those open trucks for the loop road, you will choke on dust the entire way! DO Mystery Valley in the early AM, we had the guide to ourselves on a weekday in late Sep.! I loved the balcony views for easy sunrise photos of the most iconic scene in the American West. GO but be prepared for crowds, and book MONTHS in advance! Read less

I have nothing negative to say about the View Hotel. The hotel location is one of the most fantastic I have even stayed at. I had booked what was available - an accessible room, but I commented that I did not need the room and would be willing to be moved to accommodate someone who needed it. I had booked what was available - an accessible room, but I commented that I did not need the room and would be willing to be moved to accommodate someone who needed it. I was offered a 3rd floor wonderful room with one of the best views of Monument Valley. The Front Desk staff was always pleasant and professional with me, even when, at the time of my check in, there was a line of maybe 6 other people. The agent kept smiling and never lost her cool. The Housekeeping staff was spot-on. Always friendly and engaging when we meet and my room was always in good shape after service. I work in Hospitality, so I know and appreciate good service. This is a hotel in the middle of "nowhere", yet, in my opinion, they provided service and facilities as good as any mid-level hotel. I wasn't expecting 5 or 4 star service or facilities, yet they exceeded my expectations. The price I paid was well worth what I received. Read less

What a view ! It is of course worth booking a room at the View Hotel well ahead of time to enjoy the sunset and sunrise from the balcony. The hotel is nice. The staff isn't the most welcoming but it is correct. The restaurant is good and the views are to die for. The shop is also very nice (though rather pricey !).

Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. I discovered the existence of this property when I was planning my trip to MV back in August. I had very high expectations and am happy to report The View exceeded them all. We stayed on Nov. 6 and the hotel had very low occupancy so it was incredibly quiet. The HVAC units were our only man-made sounds when they were on. When they were off, you could hear a pin drop from miles away. Obviously, the view of MV is the main attraction and the pictures on the website do not do it justice. It was surreal, like looking at a painting. We were fortunate since the hotel was so empty to be able to check in early, so we enjoyed the view for 24 hours. Sunset and then sunrise. An unforgettable experience and we are already plotting our return. A great surprise was the restaurant. Again, the fabulous views abound the dining room and the native cuisine was excellent, much better than expected. We enjoyed dinner and lunch and both meals were delicious and very reasonably priced. The View is a bit pricey but worth every penny and we cannot wait to return. Read less

First, we really enjoyed the View Hotel facilities, our room and its unique location. But I was struck by the attitude of their staff - in particular the front desk staff. No smiles, no warmth and very distant. Having traveled extensively for many years, this struck me rather odd and in fact saddened me quite a bit. I hope the management reads… Read more

No smiles, no warmth and very distant. Having traveled extensively for many years, this struck me rather odd and in fact saddened me quite a bit. I hope the management reads this and encourages their staff to be cheerful, welcoming and helpful to their guests. It would go a long way to enhance their reputation. But perhaps being the only hotel in the Monument Valley they feel it is not necessary? I hope not. Read less
