Kimpton Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City, Utah

The hotel

Living up to its location, Hotel Monaco’s as dramatic inside as Salt Lake City is outside. Unapologetically decadent, and just on the right side of wild, its daring colours and patterns, plush furnishings, and complimentary Wine Hour welcome you back each night, whether you’ve been hitting the nearby slopes, hitting the free 24-hour gym, or just hitting the world-class shops and sights a stroll away. After the wine, you can slink off to The Vault – a den-style lounge with a creative cocktail list and bar menu. If you’re after something more substantial, Monaco Hotel’s Bambara restaurant mixes a casual bistro vibe with refined New American creations – all in the unique surrounds of an old Continental Bank lobby, complete with its historic arched windows.

This is one of our favorite places to stay in Salt Lake City. The hotel is conveniently located to the Salt Palace, Temple Square and some very good restaurants and bars. The staff is amazing and the evening social hour is a must.

Found the hotel accommodation very acceptable but seemed to lack any vibe or soul. As a business hotel, very poor that breakfast only opens at 7 am, this alone will put me off future stays. Quite expensive abs i think Holiday Inn Express or Hilton close by are much better value

It was walking distance even in the heat to other law offices, federal court, and downtown restaurants and attractions. The rooms were well appointed, but the lighting could be much better. All the bulbs seemed dim at their highest settings, which made it difficult to read in bed and work at the desk. But overall, a great hotel that we would visit again. Read less

Perfect location, attentive staff - such a great weekend! My daughter and I were in town for a Girls' Weekend to see Ariana Grande at the Vivint Arena. We could not have picked a better place to stay - even before arrival, the manager, Logan, was so accommodating to my request for a room rate adjustment...he was just awesome after getting the runaround by calling corporate numbers. Upon early arrival, our room was ready and looked great! We also enjoyed the complimentary iced tea bar with fun flavored syrups in the lobby. After shopping at the nearby Creek Center (which is just a few blocks away), we arrived in our suite to be greeted by cupcakes and a picture of Ariana along with fun facts about her prepared by the staff. Later that evening, we walked to the concert at Vivint. This hotel was beautiful, centrally located, and had lots of treats and little surprises prepared by the generous and welcoming staff. I will stay at this (and other Kimpton hotels) in the future. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Read less

The bed and pillows were comfortable and the heavy drapes allowed us to sleep in. There was a gift of chilled sparkling cider and trail mix waiting for us in our room when we arrived with a note congratulating us on our marriage. The hotel and the rooms were clean and some quality toiletries were provided. We also ordered up from the restaurant.… Read more

The dessert was one of the best we’ve ever eaten. Great stay - would return. Read less
