Had the best skiing holiday ever at red mountain great place with not too many people. mixed terrain but mostly experienced intermediate to expert. Will definitely be back here only downside was I stayed in trail without a car this was an extra hassle stayed at the best Western nice hotel comfortable bed and good selection at breakfast. But just to far from the ski hill . Would probably have stayed at the prestige if I'd thought more about it. The only thing that put me off staying at the prestige was that the don't serve breakfast which makes a lot of difference when you are skiing all day you need a hearty start. Thanks again all at red mountain. Read less

Red Mountain is like your great aunt Ethel tried to make a resort. Lazy employees & uneven services. To be more than an econo lodge they need to up their game. Alternatively, charge about half the current price. Rooms - Polyester hospital style sheets may be cheap and easy to clean, but really?? Scratchy - Mattresses sunken and old Restaurant - Salad bar ingredients need to change up day-to-day - Putting yesterday’s lunch food on salad bar is cheap and possibly unsafe - Have a manager around. Letting the preschoolers run the school makes for sloppy, lazy, uneven service. Especially when they aren’t working for tips and thus have no motivation to provide good service - Train staff to refill water, coffee, tea rather than have guests get up and refill themselves - Bus dirty dishes off table rather than letting them stack up and remove after diners leave - Get with the times and supply iced coffee rather than/in addition to iced tea - Fish was consistently inedible (dry) Spa - Uneven service. Had a great massage and then the rest were insultingly bad. Why should they even try when mandatory 15% is included? Even the laziest, rudest massage therapist gets a generous automatic tip that can't be reduced - Waxing was just a mess. Uneven job, no cooling cream or anything placed on area afterward. - Clean spa showers more frequently. Used razors and old sticky strips from menstrual pads were just nasty - Cut down on single use plastics. Razors, toothbrushes, mouthwash cups, plastic cups for water. It’s not cool Classes - Uneven instruction - varied from great to horrible. Limit class sizes so individual attention can be given an there is actually space to move - Meditation/Yoga are great but not enough classes - Saw just one teacher instruct class to clean mats after use. Trust me, those mats are breading fungus and bacteria - Stop trying to sell books/tapes/equipment all the time Gym - If you’re going to blast music, make it something pleasant, not local radio with 10 minutes of commercials for every 5 minutes of music. Have instructions so guests can turn it off when no employee is manning the desk (which is most of the time) Pools - Pick up dirty towels more frequently - Aqua fitness – have teachers show moves on a trampoline (like everywhere else in the world does) rather than say the pool deck is too hard so they can’t show the moves. Even worse when they get in the water and try to show the moves. Update the music so that it isn’t kidz-bop versions of 1980 songs. Turn off the incessant spa music and let guests enjoy the natural sounds. Hikes Very good, no issues Other Big problem making appointments to use resort credit. Waited two days to hear back from a concierge about a private session I wanted. She actually never got back to me. Spoke with another concierge and she immediately was able to set it up. Marci is *the only* concierge who isn’t half asleep, playing on her phone or spacey and out of touch. She actually knows the hikes, services, classes. The others need to go. Staff talk about the resort keeping them at 30 hours per week of employment so that they aren’t full time, leading to high turnover since they don’t have benefits. That’s a terrible practice and explains why so many of them go around depressed and sad acting. Or they are completely high. Read less

This is my favorite active-vacation spot. There is so much to do: hiking, biking, exercise classes, cooking classes, spa experiences, etc. The food is always delicious. The pools are nice and the resort has beautiful grounds. I've always had great customer service. I can't wait to return even though I've been five times already!
