Started planning a solo trip but ended up with a mother and daughter trip with a friend joining in and we all had a great time. If you love to hike, this is your place. The resort’s location is spectacular and there are so many hiking trails around. We took essential package with meals and most of the activities are included. It was perfect for first timers like us. There are two groups for hiking - explorer and challenger levels. If you are not sure, sign up for explorer level on the first day and switch up if you would like. Stayed for 4 nights but I could have easily stayed a week and not get bored as there are so many activities to choose from. Went hiking every morning and tried both levels and enjoyed them all as eh guides are all phenomenal. Cardiac drums class and water aerobics are a lot of fun. My daughter and I went to the yoga in the snow canyon and it was wonderful given the gorgeous scenery. Also went to mini trampoline and vibration recovery classes. Friend did chi ball and liked it. We flew into St. George and had the hotel pick up and drop off and the service was great. Met so many guests that have been there every year over the last 20 years so you know the resort is doing something right. I also saw so many tight-knit friendships that people have made over the years that they said they now plan their trips to red mountain together. The staff and guests are all friendly and down to earth. The clientele is predominantly female but there are quite a few men and some teenagers so I don’t think anyone would feel out of place. The spa is fantastic especially body treatments. Massage and facial were so good, ended up booking another massage in 2 days after the first. Do yourself a favor and book an 80 min massage as 50 min go by too quickly and 80 min is better value. And the Himalayan hot stone massage was great. The food is delicious and plenty of options to choose from. The outfitter store has snacks and drinks for sale for in between the meals or if you miss meal times (the times are very specific). There’s also a carry out to buy food in between meal times. Cocktails are weak. There are some good options for wine but quite expensive considering what’s offered on the menu. The only thing that’s of a concern is rooms need an update. We were in Mountain View but every one walking by in the corridor can see through the window so the window stayed closed most of the time. But the location is good close to all activities. I’m sure the villas have better rooms but they are kind of off to the side and I don’t know if I would like that distance as I was barely in the room and it was sufficient for me to have a good shower and bed. But my daughter spent more time in the room and she would have been happier in the villa I think. So choose wisely based on what your plans are for your vacation. Given that the prices for the resort are not bad compared to other fitness/wellness resorts, it’s really not a big deal. The guest services lodge area is just magnificent with the mediation labyrinth, fire pit and inspiration trail. The labyrinth is very calming in the night and the day. The fire pit is great and there’s plenty of seating in the area. Ordered a bottle of wine from room service to sit there and enjoy the views one evening. I asked for the refillable water bottles and there’s a fountain in guest lodge to fill it up. There’s laundry in each building and I took detergent and it was convenient as you run through so much athletic wear between all the classes. There’s ice machine and microwave in the laundry room and there’s a refrigerator in the Mountain View room. Also, the tub is pretty deep and wide brimmed, I almost lost balance the first time going in, but put a towel on the edge to ease getting in and out. A friend switched to walk-in shower room because of the deep tub and the resort accommodated the switch right away. There are two hot tubs on the property - one at the outdoor pool and one by the wellness building. You can have a crazy busy vacation or a super chill vacation here based on how you want to spend your time and you’ll come back happy because you did just what you wanted to do and that’s the beauty of this place. Wendy was the best server and Savanah was the best bus girl. The tofu really needed to be seasoned and cooked a little longer on most of the dishes. More plant based options should be offered considering it was a resort and spa. Also, I paid for the all inclusive option and charged 8 dollars for a hummus plate when I didn't even order an entree that was more expensive. This makes no sense. Also, pool could have been heated to a higher temperature. Many guests were complaining about it being too cold. I feel that in the Covid era, there should no charge for room service considering they should want to keep social distancing in place. All in all, it was a pretty nice trip. Read less

Also, it was inconvenient that the restaurant/room service wasn’t available all day. — Noise in bedrooms. The walls are pretty thin. — Not super great water pressure in shower TIPS: — Book a villa- you won’t regret it. A tad more privacy, and the fireplace was great. — Don’t get the food package. Drive to St. George for better, cheaper food and maybe only use the restaurant if you are tired/really want to stay in. — Diana White is Red Mountain’s best kept secret. Book a session with her- just do it. Overall we loved our stay and will absolutely be back!! Read less

The resort is situated right at the foot of an incredible red mountain (hence the name!) -- and the suites are well-designed and comfortable (although some heated tiles on the bathroom floor would have been a nice touch!). It's rather over-priced, though... we dropped four hundred bucks for four of us to take a desert walk that we could have taken ourselves if someone had just shown us the path -- and a 20-minute exercise class set me back $35. We ordered room service one night and were quite disappointed with the quality of the food (the chicken was horribly overcooked) for the price. So -- while I will definitely be back to the area for the scenery, I doubt that I would stay here again, given that access to the same facilities could be had elsewhere for a much lower cost. While the property was just lovely, I found the staff--over the top wonderful. I had my dear cat of 17 years pass away while visiting Red Mountain and the staff couldn't have been more wonderful. Kara took great care in making sure I was ok; she allowed us to stay on property for a few hours beyond our check-out time so that my husband and I could re-group after receiving the devastating news. She even made sure to send us on our way w/ a thermos of water. (We were too distraught to think clearly. You need water in the desert!) So thank you to the staff and Kara, in particular, for tending to our most basic need--love and support during a time of crisis. Read less
