Omni Charlottesville

Charlottesville, Virginia

The hotel

Short of sleeping in the shops and restaurants themselves, you can’t get much closer to Charlottesville’s historic Downtown Mall than this. Just moments from its 7 pedestrianised blocks of shopping, dining, theatres, and entertainment, Omni Charlottesville Hotel has the perfect pitch in the city. It even has views over Downtown Mall from its cool and casual restaurant, The Pointe, which forms part of the hotel’s stunning 7 storey atrium. Its address may be favoured by all who visit Charlottesville, but only guests get to step inside and enjoy the hotel’s line up of luxuries, which include a heated indoor pool and whirlpool, a seasonal outdoor pool, a fully geared up fitness hub, and guestrooms which mix contemporary comforts with a nod to the South’s legendary love of grace and refinement.

The Omni is in a great location for walking, dining and shopping. Although COVID-19 has closed some stores there are still plenty to enjoy. The rooms are comfortable and the place is sparkling clean. Loved out stay.

Bar service was at best amongst the slowest they had to go search for a corkscrew then one glass had an awful film on top of the wine so had to wait even longer for replacement..... and I was standing at the bar waiting and the only patron in bar. So I paid $536 for two nights with taxes booked direct. Saw two other websites one was Travelocity $450 including taxes and roomsXXL was $340 plus $68 in taxes overal feeling ripped off by whole experience Read less

In addition to upgrading myself to a suite since I am a platinum member, they upgraded my friend who's birthday it was as well, they also delivered her 2 pieces of cheesecake. My friends and I were well taken care of, the staff is amazing. The only downside is you can tell this property has seen its best days and looks left over from the 90's or early 2000's. While the hotel may need some updating, the furniture still is clean and scratch free and the beds are extremely comfortable. The bathrooms are tiny but there is not much that can be done about that. I cannot forget Ken and Carol at the Pointe, they were great, they made my friends and I feel like old friends. Overall, a great stay. Read less

I decided to stay a night before heading back home to DC, what a good choice of mine. The hotel is right in the heart of the historic downtown and right at the downtown pedestrian Mall. I walked in the hotel and felt very welcome but with very proper social distance. All the staff I encountered were friendly, welcome, and helpful. The hotel? As a "convention" hotel, one can expect the grand look and convenient and with lots of convenient parking. The best part of my stay was to be able to walk to bars and restaurants at downtown mall and ran back to my hotel if I wanted to get away or to use the bathroom. The hotel atrium is so much fun and relax. The room is sparkling clean with lots of electrical outlets. I will stay again if going back. The price is a little steep but worth it. Read less

As a distressed traveler who checked into a disastrous hotel in Charlottesville, I called the Omni (suggested by a frequent guest there) and nearly cried when Joanna at the front desk comforted me and gave me a great rate on a great room after I spilled to her my sob story. Megan checked us in the next day, super fantastic employee! She and Joanna were so warm and caring and ensured the survival of our vacation. Ken, at the bar (go Bills!) was very friendly and chatty. So was everyone who served us at the great restaurant. The night audit lady who simply flashed a brilliant smile at me when giving me a toothbrush, she was wonderful too. The hotel itself is a throwback Atrium hotel which I love. I particularly thought the location was key, as it simply melts into the incredible Pedestrian Mall behind the hotel. Location to downtown, UVA and Monticello can’t be beat. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Every amenity you needed they have (including 2 lovely pools). Most important was the sense of safety I felt while traveling during Covid. They were very secure in their safety procedures. As a hospitality employee myself who has been furloughed due to the Pandemic, it was a real relief to be treated with the same hospitality I pride myself in given. The Omni Charlottesville is a GREAT hotel. Stop searching and book a room here now. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to all of you. Read less
