Courtyard Washington Embassy Row

Dupont Circle and Embassy Row, Washington DC

The hotel

The DC action surrounding this Scott Circle hotel’s a far contrast from the calm simplicity of its guestrooms, where extra touches include complimentary bottled water and WiFi. Just 3 blocks from Dupont Circle, you’ve got all the sightseeing you need within an easy walk (although you’re also near 3 metro stations if you’d rather save your shoe leather for exploring the sights themselves). There are the big names, like the White House 5 blocks away, and US Capitol Building a mile away; much-coveted monuments, like National Mall a mile away; and museums and galleries, many in the surrounding blocks, and with the Smithsonian Museums 2 miles away. Courtyard by Marriott Embassy Row gives plenty of excuses to return to base though, like its indoor pool and hot tub, fitness centre, and French-inspired bistro dining.

We stayed here for a Volleyball Tournament weekend. It was a very nice property. We loved the large bathroom with the closet inside and the auxilliary heat. The room was a great size and while we didn't get to spend time there the lobby is lovely. The walk to the convention center is about 20 minutes and very direct.

We stayed for the Capital Hill Classic VB tournament. The location was close enough to walk to and not have to deal with traffic of parking. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. I enjoyed the Nespresso in the room!

Being a frequent of hotel properties and a former employee of a very popular hotel brand, I was dissatisfied with his welcoming experience. I’m not sure what his problem was but he did not have that same issue with the family that checked in before us. I was completely dissatisfied with that experience and it ruined the remainder of our trip. Also, we were dissatisfied that we could know use internet streaming in our room. Top competitors have streaming services. I will most likely not stay at this particular location again. The experience was exhausting. Read less

Modern style lobby is very welcoming and hip; rooms are new, well furnished and clean. Fitness center is available 24 hours. Great for work travel. Even though it's on a busy intersection, there is little traffic noise.

I had the privilege of staying for 2 weeks -- just when the property opened. The renovation and style decisions were remarkable. The staff were all super friendly and accommodating -- even during the times when they were still figuring some things out. We… Read more

It was so nice to stay in a hotel that didn't look or feel like a standard hotel room. The staff were all super friendly and accommodating -- even during the times when they were still figuring some things out. We loved the location. It was right near National Geographic, and Dupont Circle. We could easily walk to many Metro Stations. Metro combined with Uber made Washington DC really easy to navigate. Read less
