Kimpton Hotel Madera

Dupont Circle and Embassy Row, Washington DC

The hotel

Ideally located for soaking up the culture and history of Washington, the Kimpton Hotel Madera is just a short walk from all attractions, including restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Although it’s so close, it’s peaceful ambience isn’t compromised in the least, offering a true respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Award-winning service and comfort is what the Madera is all about and there’s a lot that’s complimentary, morning coffee and a hosted evening wine hour – perfect for getting to know your fellow holidaymakers. Adjacent to the hotel is the wildly popular Firefly Restaurant with its laid-back atmosphere and contemporary American comfort food. They also serve a mean cocktail – so even if you’re not dining here, pop in for a drink beforehand anyway.

Last week I spent one night at the excellent HOTEL MADERA located in a strategic position in DC. The rooms are very spacious and charming finely furnished and the hotel has a very welcoming and cozy atmosphere (we have been offered a nice evening glass of wine in the main lobby). Hotel location is perfect for business (right in the Embassies area) and for vacation. I took an enjoyable walk to the White House and the National Mall. I also had a surprising high quality breakfast at the Hotel "Firefly" restaurant. Under the branches of the central “tree”, this restaurant is serving New American Cuisine. I highly recommend Hotel Madera. I Will Definitely Come Back Here! Read less

Staff was the best I have ever encountered from the valet, to front desk, to the manager. I don't impress easily but was incredibly impressed! Our room was great! Huge, with a balcony. Small bathroom but we didn't care. Great location. I absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to DC for any reason.

This little gem nestled in the heart of DC’s DuPont Circle offers up the best of what a busy traveler needs. The room was comfortable and the staff gracious. That glass of wine at the end of the day was just what the dr ordered!

Front desk folks were fantastic. Friendly and helpful. The rooms are lovely with a balcony that you can actually step out on. Comfortable beds. Spacious rooms with a massive floor to ceiling mirror that I could do yoga in front of. Great view. Walking distance from restaurants, metro, Dupont Circle, etc.

Only one person in check in... quality seems low vs the price... I paid over $500 a night.. was more on par with Fairfield Inn @ $125. Definitely avoid this place if possible unless there are no other places available (which is what happened with me).
