Kimpton Hotel Madera

Dupont Circle and Embassy Row, Washington DC

The hotel

Ideally located for soaking up the culture and history of Washington, the Kimpton Hotel Madera is just a short walk from all attractions, including restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Although it’s so close, it’s peaceful ambience isn’t compromised in the least, offering a true respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Award-winning service and comfort is what the Madera is all about and there’s a lot that’s complimentary, morning coffee and a hosted evening wine hour – perfect for getting to know your fellow holidaymakers. Adjacent to the hotel is the wildly popular Firefly Restaurant with its laid-back atmosphere and contemporary American comfort food. They also serve a mean cocktail – so even if you’re not dining here, pop in for a drink beforehand anyway.

I stayed at Hotel Madera for roughly two weeks, and asked if I could pay to upgrade to a larger room for the second week since my partner would be joining me. I mentioned my partner and I had never stayed at a hotel together before and were quite excited, and the manager told me she would upgrade us to a king suite for free! When we arrived, the room was absolutely amazing, and the hotel had left us wine, chocolate and fruit as a surprise, as well as a very kind card wishing us a good stay. Aside from this super nice surprise, I found the hotel to be amazing in general. The rooms are lovely, beds are SO comfy, and the staff make you feel so incredibly welcome. I have recommended to my work that we always have staff stay here now as this hotel gives you way more than you pay for, and makes a trip to DC such a pleasure :) Read less

To my surprise, the front office manager Maggie responded quickly with options and a price breakdown so I have a choice as to what treats I could purchase. Once we arrived, I was told that we were upgraded to a king deluxe w/balcony, which was very accomodating since it was a special day. The room was absolutely gorgeous - highly recommend it if you need a large room and a view. Maggie, the front office manager was very kind and it felt as if we were at home. Thank you again and we look forward to staying with you again :) Read less

Really enjoyed my stay here! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They truly go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience.
