Kimpton Hotel Madera

Dupont Circle and Embassy Row, Washington DC

The hotel

Ideally located for soaking up the culture and history of Washington, the Kimpton Hotel Madera is just a short walk from all attractions, including restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Although it’s so close, it’s peaceful ambience isn’t compromised in the least, offering a true respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Award-winning service and comfort is what the Madera is all about and there’s a lot that’s complimentary, morning coffee and a hosted evening wine hour – perfect for getting to know your fellow holidaymakers. Adjacent to the hotel is the wildly popular Firefly Restaurant with its laid-back atmosphere and contemporary American comfort food. They also serve a mean cocktail – so even if you’re not dining here, pop in for a drink beforehand anyway.

I am completely thrilled with the hospitality of Hotel Madera, Maggie at concierge is the sweetest and most welcoming person to connect with being a guest. She gives great recommendations as well! I will definitely return.

Ashton at the front desk is tremendously kind and helpful. My room is beautiful and tranquil. Restaurant downstairs is excellent, and everyone there is friendly. Great value for the price and will definitely return.

Stayed here for a business trip and rented 7 rooms. The rooms were very open, spacious, and clean. Beds were comfortable and the balcony was a huge plus with a decent view. The bathroom was nice and clean but it was a little bit on the smaller side, but they will be doing some renovations this year to change that! All of the staff were amazing and… Read more

Location is very close to restaurants and convenient to downtown. The rates are very fair as well. Definitely will be back and will recommend to friends! be back! Read less

Based on reviews I was not prepared to have the experience that I did. We checked in late and I don't know if the night crew is exponentially worse than the day crew, but wow. The woman checking us in was the rudest hotel staff member I've ever encountered. I thought maybe we caught her on a bad night and tried to dismiss it, but the next night… Read more

The woman checking us in was the rudest hotel staff member I've ever encountered. I thought maybe we caught her on a bad night and tried to dismiss it, but the next night was the same story. Also, for the rating and price I wasn't expecting a battered room. The carpet is so unraveled that my husband got the tack strip in his foot, ouch! And the ceiling had a ton of water stains. Overall, I wouldn't really recommend. Read less
