Nice check-in but it would be appropriate to let arriving guests know that the $25.00 amenity fee includes local transportation that we would have used. I was not aware of the amenity fee when reserving the room as it's listed under taxes and didn't catch it but once learning about it, checked that it was indeed on the confirmation. Bartender was cordial and helped us get food even though the kitchen closed a few hours earlier than we were led to believe upon arrival. Guest room condition was OK at first glance but very poorly maintained. The furniture was very nicked, the carpet was not well vacuumed and the tiles holding the shower curtain in place were pulling out, therefore the curtain wasn't really helpful. Bathrooms are tiny but there is a convenient chest directly outside for your stuff. The safe battery was out of juice and once reported, the staff replaced it immediately. The TV did not work either time we tried but we didn't bother to report this. Hope the next guest does. This hotel is not up to Kimpton standards, in my opinion. Read less

This is a good hotel for the value. Be careful booking through 3rd party sites and expect a $25 amenity fee. My room was clean and bedroom was comfortable enough. It is close enough to all the tourist stuff. I would not pay more then $150 for what you get during peak season.

We spent one night visiting DC here because it is near relatives we were meeting for brunch. The staff was friendly, efficient and very helpful. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Room service dinner was better than we expected and The continental breakfast was good and included. Would highly recommend for a nice hotel in this location… Read more

I exited my room in the morning to find a printed statement (receipt) for a $25 amenities charge, even though I hadn't used anything other than soap and a towel. In fact the bathroom had virtually no "amenities" in the bathroom. No shower cap - you have to ask for one if you need one. When I told staff it was a mistake, they claimed it was… Read more

In fact the bathroom had virtually no "amenities" in the bathroom. No shower cap - you have to ask for one if you need one. When I told staff it was a mistake, they claimed it was "mandatory" and was in an email confirming the reservation. There was no such disclosure in the confirmation email, and I don't think they can just add something which doesn't reflect a service. They fairly quickly refunded the charge after I objected to a "mandatory charge" in the face of a lack of amenities, but it wasn't a nice experience, and it means they teach the staff to lie in order to pull in extra fees that travelers don't expect and haven't agreed to. Not what it used to be when Kimpton was it's own brand. Rooms are a bit tired, reception staff didn't acknowledge many time return guest and loyalty club member. Breakfast is something of a joke. Decent location but there are a number of good alternative hotels within a block or two.
