Kimpton Topaz Hotel

Dupont Circle and Embassy Row, Washington DC

The hotel

A Kimpton hotel that believes in going the extra mile, the Hotel Topaz also enjoys a prime location, close to the Dupont Circle and therefore all of Washington DC’s attractions. Recently renovated, it’s a hotel where guests return time after time to enjoy a warm, welcoming atmosphere, good quality amenities and the comfort of a well-equipped room. It’s the little touches that count, and the Topaz offers them in abundance, yoga mats in rooms for example and a friendly goldfish delivered to your room should you desire a little companionship! There’s a lot that’s complimentary too – morning coffee in the living room and a hosted wine evening. For pre-dinner drinks, head to the Topaz Bar – drinks are named after the signs of the zodiac so there’s plenty to try! In-room dining is also available should you simply want to relax in private after a busy day.

Loved it. Have stayed here for both. Business trips and personal trips and always top service and clean beautiful rooms. They have a car service which you can use for the metro stop if there is bad weather. Nice perk. Great location and happy wine hour

We arrived so stressed. Greeted with a smiling person at the counter who patiently answered all our questions & concerns. No more stress! Rosalyn arrives very early to put together an amazing pastry spread with more smiles and kindness. I don't know where you find your employees- and I don't usually do these surveys but EXTREMELY GRATEFUL.

Just checked out after one night stay. The location is great, but the hotel itself is tired in urgent need of a major renovation. Every piece of furniture was either broken or chipped. The bathroom does not have an exhaust fan, the AC is old and not sufficient to cool the room. I have stayed at different Kimptons in the past and this one really… Read more

Questions included asking for places to eat/directions, calling for a cab, additional towels for room, etc... The staff was very polite and helpful for every question and situation. My room was clean and attended to daily when I was out. The location of the hotel is perfect. Only a few blocks from the White House and National Mall. My only complaints are that I wish they had more choices for breakfast. When you are there for many nights, the same few foods get old quickly. It would also be nice if they had coffee in the Lobby throughout the entire day instead of only to 9:30 am. Read less

The staff here are extremely helpful although there were some down sides,,,it was a bit muggy and uncomfortable for the first night the breakfast consist of pastries with limited fruit one day there was yogurt the next day it was not. I expressed my concern to the young lady whom I believe she stated her name was money, she then apologized but they where out. The next morning I was expecting the same however she set my husband and I aside a piece of fruit and yogurt. It was such a kind gesture. There was also wine time at the bar in the evening but the bar is not operational throughout the day overall it was a good stay we enjoyed our stay in washington Read less
