Washington Viceroy Hotel

Dupont Circle and Embassy Row, Washington DC

The hotel

On the masculine side of sultry, this urban hangout’s dressed in macho greys, with muted jewel accents, monochrome detailing, and warming dashes of wood and distressed leather. It all fits in with the manly ‘cut and thrust’ of Washington DC and Mason & Rook Hotel’s neighbourhood, which they describe as ‘the IT zone’. Steps from 14th Street, the rooms still ooze spaciousness from their former life as apartments. After grabbing free tea or coffee downstairs each morning, you can walk to the White House and other DC delights, or hop on a complimentary bike to explore – just be back for the nightly wine hour. Guests staying in summertime can mix days sightseeing with days at the rooftop pool, before joining local crowds at its accompanying bar for creative cocktails and starlit views over the capital.

I came here for my Birthday with one of my friends and honestly they did such a great job with the stay. We both felt safe, and had a good time. If you ever need any booking help I would suggest, Milton. He helped me to secure a booking and went through the process with me. I also want to thank Jason, he was a great concierge and helped us to… Read more

Overall, I had a nice time here. The room was big and walkable to where we needed to be. I haven’t met the minimum character limit yet so I will say that the Valet parked my car in the street in front of the hotel and left the doors open while he went inside to fetch sanitary covers. I appreciate that in the COVID times but please lock the door.… Read more

We stayed in a king suite, which had so much space and very nice amenities. I loved everything about our stay from the comfortable room, to the friendly staff (they even brought my son a gift,) to the barista at the BMP who wrote my son "Happy Birthday" in my latte, to the firepits outside where you could sit. It was just a lovely and SAFE stay all around, for a fair price, and would recommend to anybody. Will stay here again :) Read less

This trip was my first since the stay-at-home orders earlier this year and I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. From the moment I checked in up until I pulled out of the driveway, the Viceroy staff, Carlos, Jason and Mike in particular, went above and beyond to ensure that any needs I had were met. And they did so with a smile. Everyone at the hotel was following social distancing guidelines, so I felt safe and comfortable. Due to Covid, some of the hotel's amenities aren't currently available (like the rooftop pool and their Dovetail restaurant), but there are still so many cute areas to relax and recharge. And, you're within walking distance to plenty of amazing restaurants and sites. I would definitely stay here again. Read less

We’ve been to great hotels all over the world and the way the folks at Viceroy DC bent over backwards to welcome our group and make us feel comfortable is unparalleled. From the front desk staff to the cafe baristas, these people do “Service” with a capital “S”, 24 point font. Don’t ever want to stay anywhere else in DC again.
