Bathroom- roomy, beautiful Amenities- Complimentary newspapers -the Washington Post, NY times, and USA today. Fitness center-Able to complete workout on their modern equipment, my husband chose the elliptical and I used the recumbent bicycle.Complimentary towels and water available. Food in hotel- filling, tasty and more than enough, Food outside hotel- Great food at an Italian restaurant, chinese food, and wonderful coffee at the Expresso ? cafe (terrible with names). On the corner of Dupont Circle is a CVS pharmacy. We bought orange juice, sandwiches, boiled eggs, salad, soda, and chips. Travel- walked to Metro about 3-4 blocks from hotel, it goes everywhere. Uber- took to the Air and Space Museum by Dulles airport- houses the last space shuttle, Enola Gay, etc. Took Uber to Arlington Cemetary and back to the hotel. Spent time at the Smithsonian- please find the Hope Diamond, so beautiful. Spent two days at African American History Museum. Food is good and pricey. When returned to the hotel, always greeted by staff, never had to open the door. Housekeeping- very responsive when I required their assistance. Read less

Andre' at the front desk was the BEST we've ever had. He arranged transportation for the first evening we were there and helped us change our dinner reservations in order to work with our travel. ALL of the staff at this location are absolutely fantastic. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit the DC area. You will surely NOT be disappointed. Read less

From start to finish, my stay at the Kimpton Palomar was truly a first class experience. The spacious rooms, the modern ambiance of the property the courtesy and catering from the entire Palomar Family (front desk, maid service, valet, bell service) was unlike any other. They all made me feel like I was more than just a guest. They all became part of the experience. Check in was smooth and easy no confusion. Andre took his time with us making sure our rooms were accommodating (ADA) and answered all our questions highlighting the property amenities and events that were included in our stay. Kimpton Palomar is so conveniently located. After a few trips I no longer needed the GPS and was able to get around DC with ease back and forth to the Hotel. We had a large party for dinner and didn't even have to leave. We received a fine dinning experience, that included a comfortable lobby area for mixing, a wine tasting and a private dinning area. The late night cap with Lauren was also amazing. She was so personable in true Palomar fashion. Upon checking out it was wonderful to see Andre to close out our stay in a complete circle. He truly represents the Kimpton Brand. It's not the magic that makes it work, it's the work that makes it magic. Thanks to Andre and the entire Kimpton Palomar Family the weekend was magical for me and my family. Read less

This hotel is on P and DuPont Circle, about 2 blocks from the Metro (red). The hotel is updated with modern furniture and is quite quiet. They Ave a great staff. Also, the room are relatively large; however, they charge a premium for king sized beds.

I attempted to book a room that was advertised on the Kimpton Hotel's website which would provide one night free if you booked two nights. When I went to book it, a charge for all three nights appeared on the reservation. I contacted the reservation service as well as the hotel itself and initially, no one claimed any knowledge of the promotion. After being transferred multiple times and being disconnected and later transferred to telephone lines where no one answered, I finally reached a customer service person who said that he spoke with a supervisor who told him that I should book it and the hotel would dispute the bill and issue me a credit at some later time. This made no sense, and I asked for confirmation of this in writing, which the person would not provide. I called back the next day and asked to speak with a supervisor who called me back. Despite the availability of many rooms in this hotel, she said that the rooms available at this price on my dates were all booked. When I started to show her other dates were not available, she finally admitted that no dates were available at all. This hotel continues to promote this rate on its website, despite the fact that it will not honor it. Instead, it attempts to get you reserve and pay for every day. That is a bait and switch. The company was not concerned about its continuing misrepresentation of its rates and continues with its false advertisement. With an attitude like that, I would not do business with this hotel and I booked elsewhere. Read less
