The hotel front staff were efficient getting our bags from cab to front desk. Check in was greeted with a glass of white wine despite happy hour every evening 4 to 5pm had ended. Dining at Dirty Habit as per review. Very central to city shopping area and close to Walter E Washington conference centre, a little walk pass Capital One arena and Chinatown. Historical building - Old PO. Breakfast was good and you can have it up to 230pm! Nothing was too much. Thank you to the receptionist girl (sorry forgot your name) who helped return gloves to my matey who left it in my room. For runners it is a lovely short run to and along the National mall and right up to Rocky Creek. Read less

This was an old historic post office located in the heart of town, so in order to put a hotel in it the results are a bit quirky. This was an old historic post office located in the heart of town, so in order to put a hotel in it the results are a bit quirky. We had a room that was between the stairs to the roof and a utility closet, so we had no next door neighbors, plus we over looked the courtyard (there is a restaurant in the middle, but closes around 11 pm), so it was very quiet. Free coffee in the lobby coffee shop in the mornings, staff is very friendly and helpful, free wine tastings in the late afternoons, and the location is great (across the street from the National Portrait Gallery). The room layout is a bit quirky, bathroom is quite large, shower is also quirky but nice, and room is a decent size. The only issue is that the giant vaulted ceilings and marble floored hallways can be noisy (bring ear plugs and hope for considerate neighbors), but all of that is part of the unique charm of the hotel. The restaurant is fine, nothing fancy but very pleasant with good food. Read less

A boutique hotel is a great description but the rooms are also very classy, timeless, and sophisticated. This hotel is perfect for a Capital One Area event or even just touring the city. It is directly across from the Smithsonian Portrait Museum. I always try to include one criticism but I can't think of one. Also, they were even thoughtful enough to include a very personal and tasty treat for my little cousins birthday. Bravo. This hotel should have more stars. Read less

The staff was very friendly and polite. Very accommodating also. This hotel is beautiful, esthetically. The restaurant Dirty Habit has excellent food and a great atmosphere. The lobby is a great place to sit for hours, talking with friends. Loved my stay!

Love this hotel! The building has so much character and history but is still well kept, updated, clean and trendy! The room itself was huge. Enjoyed having coffee and reading the free WSJ in the lobby every morning. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Will def be back.
