Image of the Tripadvisor rating Nice Hotel, Housekeeping Not So Much

I stayed at Kimpton’s Hotel Monaco for three days for business. First, the hotel is HUGE and the building is of historic ago so the halls are VERY long. It can be a 7-10 walk from the lobby to your room. Beautiful halls though. The hotel is decorated beautifully as is the Kimpton standard. Housekeeping, however; needs a bit of work. My rooms was fine, but I realized the covers on my bed hadn’t been change when I noticed what looked like little drops/spots of spaghetti sauce at the foot of the bed underneath a decorative blanket I had moved. I was also given what appeared to be a clean wash cloth but it had permanent yellow stains on it. Overall, I would stay again because the location was amazing...but the cleanliness was disappointing. My room was pretty far into the hotel so I could tell someone probably just slumped on their duties. Not okay. Read less

Décor was unique, hapoy hour for guests, friendly staff and you can’t beat the location! BUT our room was damp and musty. I assume that it is because we were on the first floor which is essentially the basement. There was also no exhaust fan in the room which made things worse when we showered. Nothing dried, it was disappointing. There were also… Read more

I assume that it is because we were on the first floor which is essentially the basement. There was also no exhaust fan in the room which made things worse when we showered. Nothing dried, it was disappointing. There were also no windows to look out. This didn’t ruin my trip but made me want to stay out walking around so that I didn’t have to go sit back in the room. I would consider coming back but would not accept a room on ‘the first floor’. Read less

We were treated with great hospitality and customer service from Valet, to the doormen to the office desk and bar. This was one of the most memorable stays I’ve had yet I’d love to visit again. Special thank you to Robert for insuring we enjoyed our stay

We stayed last week at the beautiful Hotel Monaco in D.C. A mistake at 10:30pm had house keeping key into our room. Needless to say we were not happy. Robert Hart heard my frustration and made it right! This coupled with the daily happy hour, friendly employees, and location to so many amazing restaurants will bring us back!
