The staff was very accommodating and helped with loaning a straightener for my hair since mine was forgotten. They text us prior to our arrival to determine if we had any needs. The restaurant/bar was fabulous. We had drinks there on one night & watched an athletic event on tv and had breakfast the next morning. I tried the rice crispy coated French toast with coffee butter....a must to try! Our 2nd floor room (which is actually on the first floor) was extremely quiet. The location of this hotel was perfect for us. It was less than 10 minutes to the White House, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, etc. It is also approximately 10 minutes from the Ronald Reagan airport. However, we flew into Dulles which is approximately 45 minutes away. I highly recommend staying here and hope to be able to visit again!!! Read less

The ground floor rooms are below pavement level so quite dark. The upper level floors have large windows and high ceilings. The sound proofing isn’t the best and the en- suites are basically boxed off areas. However I loved the quirky decor, interesting artefacts and the location is brilliant. I have to commend the staff and in particular Agatha who did all she possibly could to make my first visit to this amazing city a fantastic experience. If you are looking for an hotel with a difference pick this! There is also a happy hour (my only beef was that it was very early 4-5pm!) where complimentary wine/beer/soft drinks are served. We stayed in February 2020 - mainly because we were going to see some games at the Capital One arena and this hotel is less than a minute walk away. Hotel was great. Very comfortable. Bikeshare docking station right across the street and we used that all the time to get around DC to the visitor attractions.

Beautiful Hotel with grand architecture.. Hotel clean. Relatively quiet at night... unfortunately we booked a king room , they didn’t provideThat. They switched us to 2 doubles... Beds were comfortable, though.
