The Darcy

Washington DC, USA

The hotel

The Darcy may look like a distinctly grown-up hotel, dressed in chic mid-century threads and understated tones, but its playful undercurrent’s revealed in bursts of technicolour. And unique Darcy Daypacks give budding mini-travellers five fun ‘missions’ for exploring DC – whether it’s as a ‘Darcy Detective’ at International Spy Museum, or a stargazer with astronaut ice cream. During the warm months, each young adventurer is offered ice cream sandwiches at check in– and you get to enjoy the complimentary cocktail hour (or in-room tipples from your Cocktail Butler), before Siren lures you in with its seductive maritime-themed décor and seafood platters. The Darcy’s complimentary bikes and scooters (and free WiFi for route-planning) make sightseeing simple, although you’re just 10 minutes’ walk from Dupont Circle and the White House. And you can set yourself up for the day with beignets and coffee at its New Orleans-inspired café, Lil’B

I needed an affordable but nice hotel near Logan Circle for a visit with family. I also had my dog with us. The Darcy was very clean, stylish, with good lighting and a wildly comfortable bed. We were greeted by really hospitable service, and the restaurant downstairs had surprisingly great food. All in all, recommend!

Visited DC for our 1 year anniversary. The description of the hotel on the website was informative and inviting, so we booked it. The experience from beginning to end was amazing. The staff at the front desk ensured they went above and beyond on our random requests. Aziz, the bellman was wonderful. They were professional, Covid-19 aware to the highest levels, friendly and informative. The room was spacious, clean with nice amenities. Located a few minutes walk from Dupont Circle, great restaurants and a family friendly environment. We'll be back for sure! Read less

First time stay yet will return. Reception desk staff were wonderful and very accommodating. Used the hotels free bikes to ride through DC. They have adapted well to Covid. Rooms cleaned and great shower.

When we checked in, we were greeted by courteous and friendly staff, who made sure we got a room on a high floor facing the front of the property- and even called once we were up in the room to make sure we had everything we needed. Everything was thoroughly cleaned and their Covid protocols made us feel extremely safe while at the hotel. Would absolutely recommend and will definitely be staying at the Darcy again! Read less

One of my girlfriends that lives in DC recommended this hotel to me when I told her that I would be in town a few days for work and pleasure. Short review: I would recommend staying at The Darcy. They have several COVID-19 safety measures, comfy beds and parking, and hot high pressure showers, with modern decor. They are centrally located and INCREDIBLY priced! Long review: The Darcy has great COVID-19 measures in place. They only allow residence entrance to the hotel. They have safety glass to protect you and them during check-in. Plenty of hand sanitizer at every turn, and guidance for using elevators safely. Once checked into my room, I found a comfy king size bed, plenty of lighting, and a nice bathroom with robes. I slept comfortably and had plenty of pillows. I spent a half day working in the room and found sufficient power plugs and reliable, free wifi. Though there isn't a business center, the front desk is willing to print out documents for you if emailed. Overall I would definitely stay at The Darcy again! Read less
