Liaison feels like a hotel that is a bit past its heyday. The decor was probably wonderfully modern 10-20 years ago. I'm not sure the mattresses in my room were ever very comfortable. The shower plumbing in my room was loose and the showerhead was clogged. There were no glasses in the room for water -- just a couple of paper cups for coffee. The walls and doors are thin -- if people are talking in the room next to yours or moving around in the hall, you can hear it. The doors are weighted to swing heavily -- you will hear each and every door slam close up and down the hallway. The in-hotel restaurant may be good for dinner, I don't know. What I do know is that its breakfast options are laughable. They don't offer a table service breakfast -- just a grab-and-go kiosk that doesn't even have as many choices as their room service. I ended up ordering room service one morning and it appeared 15 minutes after the delivery window -- I nearly missed my first meeting of the day as a consequence. The gym was poorly ventilated -- it was about 10 degrees warmer than the rest of the building, smelled pretty bad, and had an anemic selection of equipment -- including non-matching dumbbells. Plus, no wet wipes or spray to clean the equipment. The hotel was filled with middle and high school groups of various kinds. This means the too-small lobby was constantly overcrowded, the elevators were always packed with kids who did not know what floor they were getting off on, and teenagers were running up and down the hallways. Cute? Yes. Amenable to quality sleep? No. Especially at the price I paid, I will not be returning to the Liaison. Read less

The location of the hotel and rooms themselves were fine but I was housed next to a room full of many guys that partied non stop while I was on a work trip. I called the desk and went to the desk face to face to ask for their help. I only ever heard them address the issue once. There are many fees on the final invoice that are not included in the… Read more

I called the desk and went to the desk face to face to ask for their help. I only ever heard them address the issue once. There are many fees on the final invoice that are not included in the list price of the room and the parking is astronomical compared to a garage down the street. I also booked two rooms for a colleague working with me and the desk was confused by this and locked them out of the room one night. I travel often and overall it did not seem like the staff here knew how to run a hotel Read less

The Liaison is conveniently located near to Union Station for access to anywhere in DC. It is also within walking distance of the US Capitol building and the rest of the National Mall. Great location to walk and see the monuments and museums and then return for a good meal and to relax in the room.

Fantastic hotel. Would return in a flash. Staff were excellent, rooms great and service was first class. Excellent in house bar and restaurant. Concierge service was exceptional. The excursions that we booked via concierge service were brilliant.
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Might as well Airbnb for the service you get here.

We stayed here during a business trip. Two queen beds. One was hard as a rock. The other clearly got more use because it was still hard yet oddly sagging. I left the room at 0700 for a meeting. Stopped back at 1100 and it wasn’t made up. Stopped back again at 1600 and STILL not made up, so I called the front desk and they said they would send… Read more

Stopped back at 1100 and it wasn’t made up. Stopped back again at 1600 and STILL not made up, so I called the front desk and they said they would send someone up. They didn’t. Got back from a long day of meetings at 2030. STILL not made up. Call the front desk and they basically said “tough.@. In fact they said there wasn’t really anyone here at 1600 anyway. No “I’m sorry.” No offer to do jack about it. This is $400 a night. They can make up the GD beds at that price. Read less
