We were upgraded to a "King room" which as very roomy and nicely appointed. Hotel is clean and convenient and nicely located between Georgetown and the national mall. I did not use the $50 / day vallet parking but opted for self park at the Spot Hero lot which is only one block away at the Ritz Carlton.

My one pet peeve about hotel rooms is the cleanliness of the room, and that feeling of wanting a restful sleep in a room with little to no sign of the previous inhabitants. The Wink failed on that account as the room was dirty, not only from the easily seen but also from the easily uncovered. Dust, dirt, hair, crumbs, stains... all visible as soon… Read more

The Wink failed on that account as the room was dirty, not only from the easily seen but also from the easily uncovered. Dust, dirt, hair, crumbs, stains... all visible as soon as we entered the room which is not the welcome we hoped for. If I could give 4 stars it would be for the front desk staff who were friendly and attentive... but overall with a dirty room the rating drops to one or two stars. Do hotels have quality control people who do visible inspections before guests arrive? Consider it! Read less

You’re properly greeted begging with the valet person to the cleaning people in the hallways. Hotel is extremely clean. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. The only thing that I didn’t like was that the leave 2 water bottles in the room and charge $4 per water bottle. I paid about $130 for 1 night. In my opinion, provide the customers with water at least for water bottles in the refrigerator. I drove from jersey on a 4 and some hours drive with my 3 daughters. First trip to Washington and was little nervous to make any stops. By the time we got there the girls ran out of the water bottles we brought along for the ride. I had some more for the ride back, but didn’t want to give them any more so that we wouldn’t have to stop. Also, thinking we’ll find cold water in the rooms refrigerator, but nothing. They do have welcoming flavored water at check in, but usually children do not drink flavored water. Luckily the hotel is also in a great location and were able to go to CVS and buy 24 Poland Spring water bottles for $3.50. Besides the water, we enjoyed our stay at The Wink. The Staff is exceptional, # 1. Oh, valet is also a little pricey, $49 plus tax, but I absolutely loved the valet gentlemen and front desk people. Excellent Customer Service!!! Read less

The rooms are also quiet and the beds comfortable. Otherwise it does not look a lot like a 4-star hotel. The carpet in my room was stained, and furniture was dated. If you are doing a family holiday, I would suggest saving money by staing in Alexandria, where for the same price you can get the Westin or Sheraton Suites. One tip: like all city hotels, Wink charges for parking but it is exorbitant at $50 a day. Park at the hotel across the street for a mere $30- the entrance is right next to Potbelly. One more tip: I was ultimately okay with this hotel because of its proximity to Rasika; truly amazing food. Read less
