Washington Court Hotel

Washington DC, USA

The hotel

On Capitol Hill, Washington Court Hotel has one of DC’s most desired addresses (besides the White House, of course). You're just steps from sights like the National Mall, Newseum, US Capitol Building, and Union Station – where the Amtrak brings New Yorkers into the very heart of the capital. It may be a sizeable hotel, giving you all the benefits that come with that (like complimentary WiFi and true value for money), but it is ‘boutiquey’ in spirit and style. Bistro 525 connects you with your setting too; with its mid-Atlantic menu created from local farm produce, and its bar featuring regional brews.

The location is unbeatable for access to Capitol Hill. The service is great - from the doorman to the front desk to the restaurant to those who service the rooms! You don't always find "friendly" in Dc - but this place has it. The breakfast buffet is one of the best deals in town.

This hotel is beautiful and the room that I had was super big and very clean!!!! The staff was pleasant and helpful as well! I was in town with family to see the Mardi Gras parade at the District Wharf (which is awesome) and to visit a few monuments/museums (awesome as well). The location of this hotel was perfect!!!

I am sitting here in our room, at 3:12am on Saturday night, trying to sleep. In the room next door, a group of people is so loud, they have woken me up 3 times already. In any other hotel, I could call the front desk to complain, but the hotel Phone in the room does not work. I have tried to call the front desk from my cell phone through the outside line, but -surprise surprise- only get voice mails. The Extension to the front desk and concierge (extension 3) rings and rings unanswered. So does the extension for the operator. A hotel where I can’t sleep is just worth 1 Star. If you work at the hotel, feel free to contact me... happy to give you my room number to confirm. If you contact me in the next 6 hours, I am sure I will still be awake... listening to the party next door. Thanks Washington Court Hotel for wasting my Saturday night! Read less

The hotel has great food and drinks, but if you are on a stricter budget, there is a Starbucks across the street and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. We walked to the Smithsonian museums in 20 minutes, but if you prefer to ride, there is a metro stop just a block away. Union station is around the corner and then two blocks away- if you are traveling by train. It was a five minute walk for us- with bags! Everyone was friendly and the doormen were the best! Our room was lovely with a Kuerig machine, free bottled water every day, a huge flat screen tv, extremely comfortable beds and pillows and the quietest toilet in the world!! Looking forward to our next stay! Everything was wonderful! Read less

The hotel has a modern motif. The rooms were superb and quite a pleasant surprise at the price point. I was in town just for the an evening social event. Staff were very nice and helpful. Definitely would return in the future.
