Gray Wolf Inn at West Yellowstone

Montana, Wild West

The hotel

For most, the location of Gray Wolf Inn & Suites would be enough: just two blocks from the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park, you’re minutes from its famous natural attractions. But that didn't stop the owners giving the inn a $1.4 million makeover, with everything from the rooms to the swimming pool getting a facelift. Welcoming guests all year round, so you can see the region in every season, the inn’s spacious rooms and suites are popular with families. The complimentary parking means road trips are easy, although many West Yellowstone highlights are within strolling distance, with Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center just over the road, and Yellowstone Historic Center and Yellowstone IMAX Theatre two blocks away.

Plans called for driving from Jackson to West Yellowstone in October. The staff was extremely helpful in planning my best options. We were in West Yellowstone for only one night but the Gray Wolf will be on our list of best choices for future Yellowstone visits. Due to the frigid conditions and uncertainty of road conditions for the park we didn't get to take full advantage of what was offered. The staff recommended a few restaurants and our choice of those proved to be a highlight as well. We had a 2 queen room which was very well maintained and up to date. The property has an underground parking garage under the building, fitness center, indoor heated pool, large breakfast area across from the front desk which included a large variety of options. Our only regret was that the weather didn't allow us to get there earlier. If not staying inside the park, West Yellowstone is a great location to base your visit due to the closeness to Old Faithful. Thanks Gray Wolf. We'll be back! Read less

The hotel was excellent. The front desk help at night was great (I received help planning my park visit). Rooms were clean and roomy. The pool and spa were wonderful. Staff was very helpful (thanks Krison, #4). Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. I would definitely stay here again. Five stars!!!
