Holiday Inn at West Yellowstone

Montana, Wild West

The hotel

The Holiday Inn – renowned for its value, quality guest service and amenities – is an ideal base camp from which to explore America’s first national park. A welcome retreat, it boasts a lovely indoor swimming pool to relax in, as well as a hot tub and sauna to soothe tired limbs. The Branch Restaurant & Bar offers ‘open range cuisine’ with beef and game dishes infused with plenty of local flavour plus children’s menus and lunch boxes are available. We also recommend one of the local brews – Moose Drool, Trout Slayer and Old Faithful Pale Ale to name but a few! After dinner, why not head to the Branch Casino, it’s small but perfectly packed with a fun atmosphere.

This is one of the loudest hotels I've ever stayed in. We chose it because of location (and the train car near the restaurant). The 1000 elephants in the room above us made sleep nearly impossible until they settled down. I'm not sure why the floor is so loud or if the people were just that loud. This is one of the loudest hotels I've ever stayed in. We chose it because of location (and the train car near the restaurant). The 1000 elephants in the room above us made sleep nearly impossible until they settled down. I'm not sure why the floor is so loud or if the people were just that loud. Thankfully, the first night there was no one above us so it was just one night. The pool is by reservation. So they let 2 families in at a time. That means that if during your 1 hour time slot, the other family chose the hot tub, you can't really go to the pool to use the hot tub. Disappointing as we were looking forward to our pool time and found 3 adults in the hot tub - that definitely doesn't leave room for our family of 4! Breakfast was not included and we had to pay for restaurant breakfast, but it is in the same building. Read less

I know it’s COVID’s fault, but NO maid service, no hot breakfast. Instead you get a paper sack with water, a dried out orange and a breakast bar fit only for the trash can. You can have your room cleaned after FIVE days. That said, Jon at the front desk was excellent at sightseeing suggestions. We checked out 2 days early.

Nothing amazing about this place, or bad either. Convenient to the west entrance to Yellowstone which is why we choose it. Beds were ok. We were taking extra precaution during COVID, and wiped and sprayed everything down with Clorox wipes and spray, but the room did seem clean. All and ALL ok for a Holiday Inn.

A great choice for staying in West Yellowstone, a two-minute drive to the west gate of the park. Helpful staff, clean, large rooms in walking distance to shops and restaurants. Restaurant was closed due to COVID but there are lots of options in the area. Reasonably priced. Would stay there again when in the area and recommend it to others.

Perfect access to Yellowstone National Park. Hotel was clean and the lobby was very nice. Staff very friendly and accomodating. Some reviews complained about the hotel being dated, but I thought it was very nice and had a rustic charm to it. The location was perfect to getting to the main strip, but far enough away to not deal with what comes with a touristy area. We walked everywhere. The only complaint that I had is the breakfast. I get the grab and go options due to Covid, but the 3 nights we stayed, it was the same thing everyday. A blueberry granola type bar...orange...and a bottle of water. Not a huge deal, but would have been nice if it was switched up just a bit and possibly other drink options. Read less
