Ranch at Ucross

Wyoming, Wild West

The hotel

There’s nothing like experiencing something totally different if you want to truly escape. And, when you saddle up to ride the horses at this remote ranch, and head off into Wyoming’s scenic pastures and hills, you’ll certainly forget home. You’ll also lose yourself relaxing in the rocker on the Ranch House’s porch, playing horseshoes in the garden, bathing in the heated outdoor pool, and as you pick up the fishing gear they leave on the porch and head over to Piney Creek to fish for rainbow or brown trout. And, after you’ve had a day of ‘me time’ you can dine family style with buffet feasts most nights, and à la carte options others, before planning your next day at the ranch, or discovering north Wyoming’s iconic sights, like Devils Tower National Monument.

Great scenery, very hospitable. This was Day 4 or our tour and it was a relaxing spot. The bar was excellent and Charlie knew how to pour them. The room in the main building was like living in your grandmother's house and it was musty until you turned the a/c and fan on for awhile. I would have preferred to stay in the new lodging by the pool. … Read more

We stayed at The Ranch at Ucross during a bus tour. The accommodations were very good. The meals and service were excellent. We got a chance to go for a short horseback ride, too. Nice location with excellent scenery.

We arrived at the ranch with a tour group. We were able to go horse back riding before dinner. I can say without a doubt that the food on the ranch was the best food we ate during our entire trip out west. By far! We only stayed one night but it was great. We had breakfast before we left which again was fantastic! The staff was friendly and… Read more

We enjoyed a fantastic horse trail with the wrangler who was very attentive and patient (especially great if you have not had a horse ride before) the views are just breath taking. A lovely porch area to sit and relax. A swimming pool and TV room with air conditioning. We enjoyed our room it was clean and well presented. WiFi available. The owner was so kind on ensuring we had our packed lunch to take away with us when we left for our next destination. There is a tennis and basketball court as well as volleyball. This is a friendly homely and accommodating place which obviously cares about its guests. Would go back. Read less

My wife and I stayed here for one night in August as part of our Western Cowboy holiday. It is in a beautiful, rural setting of Wyoming and felt like we had stepped into a John Wayne film. The accommodation was beautiful, the food excellent and the ride was the best we have done (and we've done a lot of riding on holidays.) Special thanks must go to Eric and Vickie: they are wonderful hosts, accommodating, friendly, incredibly helpful and humble. They made the stay a real joy and we are grateful to them for providing such a memorable part of our holiday. We shall be back! Read less
