A refreshing and relaxing stay at Tenaya Lodge! The property and staff were better than expected and the room well appointed with a comfortable bed. The lobby fireplace and outdoor fire pit offered a lovely place to relax after a long day of hiking and the restaurant was quite good.

Beds were clean and comfortable, as was the rest of the room. The deli was pretty well-stocked with drink and snack essentials. Hot breakfast sandwiches were decent. Free ice skating (because they opened late). The indoor pool and hot tubs were a nice feature. Great location, close to the south gate of Yosemite. Very quiet at night, we slept well. Cons: The only restaurant open was buffet only, which makes no sense during COVID, so we had to dine elsewhere. Wifi coverage was very spotty, especially in our room (but not necessarily bad, because it kept us off of our phones!) Ice skating at the pavilion did not open at 9:00 am as scheduled and we needed to check out that morning at 11:00. The front desk refused to extend our checkout to noon. I'm not sure if we'll be back again because we've had better luck with AirBNB in this area, but maybe after COVID (whenever that is...) when things are a bit more normal. Read less

We had a wonderful time staying in one of the explorer cabins at Tenaya over new years. The concierge was helpful in guiding us to a couple different hikes nearby, and we got to snow shoe for the first time along a picturesque trail next to a creek behind our cabin. On our way home we drove through Yosemite Valley, which I had never seen covered in snow and would highly recommend. We were there at a very busy time of year and initially we were concerned about there only being a couple different options for food (the restaurant at the lodge and a pizza place next to the cottages.) We also weren't comfortable dining in the restaurant due to Covid and having our 8 month old and our dog with us. Thankfully, the restaurant manager, Kris, went above and beyond to make sure we had meals for each day of our stay. This accommodation really made our trip. We are grateful that the staff did their best to meet our needs even at such a busy time, plus with a snow storm and covid in the mix. The food we ordered at the restaurant was also very good. We chose Tenaya over staying in the valley primarily because they allow dogs, and I was impressed with how dog friendly everyone was. It was our dog's first time seeing the snow, and she absolutely loved it. We plan on coming back at a different time of year, so we can hike into the Mariposa Grove. One thing to note: Even though check-in says 4 pm on the website, I was informed by the front desk when we arrived that a 4 pm check-in isn't guaranteed, and our cabin was not ready until after 6 pm that evening. It irked me that after traveling in the car all day we couldn't immediately check-in to our cabin, but the rest of the stay was really nice, and they are pretty flexible about the check-out time, so I felt that made up for it somewhat. I think it would help for the check-in/check-out policy to be made clear before arrival. Read less

We were there for a five-day family Christmas. Beautiful setting; handsome lobby. Rooms were good-sized. The shower had good volume and hot water. The door to the toilet room was a bit weird. The indoor swimming pool is quite large, but the swim room was a bit cool for December. The restaurant is large with an ample bar and outside seating. The food is good and there are some aggressive recipes. Problem for people staying several days is that there is only one restaurant and no other eating places within 30 minutes. Read less

We had a very nice family vacation. It was during a very serious storm but the hotel staff went overboard to make sure everyone’s needs were taken care of. It was a pleasure and we would definitely come back in the future.
